A-1 Home Inspection Service

On 10/**/12 I paid A-1 Home Inspection Service $450.00 to inspect a home I was interested in buying. Partly based on this inspection, I purchased the home. Under the Heating/Air Conditioning Unit section is written "Good". Although the oil tank is not specifically checked, the inspector looked at it and verbally told me that it was old but alright. Since then, 2 oil companies have refused to deliver oil and stated that the tank was unsafe.The tank was behind a thin wall but there were 2 opennings for viewing. I saw it, the inspector saw it, and the 2 oil companies saw it and were able to determine from what they saw that it was unsafe. I called to complain the first week of February [redacted] and the senior partner came out to look at the tank 2/**/**. On the phone he said he was sure it was fine and he could intervene with the oil companies on my behalf. Upon seeing the tank he reneged, and told me to deal with the oil company I contracted with and to check my homeowner's insurance.After telephone estimates and another visual inspection, I have obtained an estimate of approximately $3,330 plus tax for removal of the old tank and a replacement.
