A-1 Home Repair & Remodeling

A-1 Home Repair & Remodeling was retained to do a number of things including electrical repairs, as the wiring had been cut prior to our purchase of the home. [redacted] had stated before begining the job that he would hire an electrician to do the electrical work, however, he decided that he would do the electrical work himself (the problem being [redacted] does not hold an electrical license). After he said he had completed the work, I had two different inspectors, as well as two master electricians, look at the home. All four found the same violations/safety hazards. I told [redacted] via email that the hazards needed to be fixed which went unanswered. He has since filed a lien on the home demanding full payment of the contract. He has completed only a fraction of the contractual work, most of that being the dangerous electrical work, and I am told doing that is against the law. Since finding out about the faulty electrical work, I looked into him further online. When I Googled his phone number ([redacted], I found multiple websites with this number listed with different business names attached to them. One other one being A+ (instead of A-1) Repair and Remodeling. His business card only says "General Maintenance & Renovations", which leads me to believe that he could be using this card for his multiple business names. Also worth noting, after [redacted] did the initial bid and we decided to hire him, the contract that we received had a different owner name on it - [redacted] I have recently Googled that name as well, only to find that he is a registered sex offender with his occupation listed as "retired". [redacted] has mentioned that he is in business with his father, so I can only assume this is his father, as I never met [redacted].
