A-1 Homes Reviews (1)

I have requested service for my Modular home and I'm now told by the exec assistant ( [redacted] That they will do no moreI purchased a home from A-1 Homes of [redacted] in July of 2012. The first Unit to be delivered hit a bridge in Moose Jaw on Nov XX XXXX, a new Unit was ordered and re delivered in Feb XX XXXX. The unit had deficiencies items we paid for but were not provided, a settlement was reached and a cash payment was provided to me for those deficient items I have made two service requests on the first I advised there was bubling in my linoluem in the bathroom, there was a draft coming up under my unit in my master bathroom, and that my funace never shut off. The service company dispatched [redacted] to fix the thermostat, and one of [redacted] employee's advised also that the furnace was oxygen starved as there was not sufficent venting to the funace, shortly after a employee of the [redacted] came ( [redacted]) and advised there was nothing that could be done with the linouem, he looked at the problem under my unit re the air coming up through my cabinets and he found some scrap sterfoam insulation and tried to fix it ( I do not belive that it is fixed correctly as per industry standards)On April XX XXXX I sent a service request to [redacted] a subsidiary of[redacted], were I identifyed the items listed below. I had to escalate the request on May 10th[redacted]. On June 25 again I was promised someone was going to come out and do the work no one showed up. In July August and September the same. To this date I have been promised no less than 10 times someone was coming to address the issues no one has come.Today the executive assistant [redacted] which the parent company of [redacted] is part of told me they have done everything they are going to do and that they are done with me the following are still outstanding issues that need to be resolved:1) Furnace door needs to be replaced to allow air to enter into the furnace, the furnace is currently oxygen starved according to furnace professionals ( also [redacted] has advised me of the same)2) The facia on the front side of the home is coming out, it is to short and needs to be replaced ( one piece that we can see)3) Our center blind in the living room does not close properly, also we are not sure if there is supposed to be a valance on the 2" blinds if so there are none throughout the house4)When [redacted] was here six plus months ago there was a wind coming up under our MB tub coming through the drawers in the MB he advised that there was no insulation there and he [redacted] rigged some Styrofoam insulation around it, the wind is still there and we do not want the pipes or tub freezing this winter so we want this checked out also to ensure that it is to industry standards and that we will not have freezing issuesDesired SettlementI want the work done that is deficient and brought to building code standards Business Response [redacted] service department has completed the work on Mr. [redacted]'s home that was purchased from A-1 Homes in [redacted].He has had 2 visits from our service team to complete multiple services on his home.In regards to his four outstanding issues:1) Vents were sent to Mr. [redacted] for the furnace door (which should have been installed in the door before leaving the factory). He was advised by [redacted] that they would pay for someone to install them or for Mr. [redacted] to install them and they would pay for up to 2 hours of work for this. Mr. [redacted] states the vents are the wrong size, these are the size that the factory has indicated to us belong in his home. The vents in the door will allow the air movement for the furnace.2) Fascia on the home was completed by our service man.3) There are no valances included with the home purchased. The living room blind is heavier as it is a larger blind. It was working when the service was there, but a little harder to pull open/ close due to the weight. 4) Our service man indicated to [redacted] that he had insulated around the tub to factory standards.Due to the service work we have done on this home we feel we are completed with the service required. The offer for the furnace vents to be installed with [redacted] incurring the cost still stands. If Mr. [redacted] does take up the offer to have a 3rd party install the vents in his furnace room doors, please have him contact [redacted] for a PO work number.Thank youFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)the statment made here are not true, there was only one visit by [redacted] to our home. [redacted] Yes the door grates are larger than the furnace door. If desired I can take pictures and send them to [redacted]I can not verify if the insulation that was installed under the unit was completed as per CSA standards or not but [redacted]So have [redacted] send me a cheque for 50.00 dollar to cover the procurment of the proper vents for the door and I will install them myself.[redacted].
