A-1 Interstate Mechanical(A-1) did the service we are contracted to do though her warranty company. It is up to the warranty...
company to explain to their customer if the diagnosed problem is a covered or non-covered issue. The $75.00 service call is collected to pay A-1 per contract with the warranty company for our time and diagnosis which we then submit the diagnosis back to the warranty company. That is what we are contracted to do. She is a customer of the warranty company and we can only do what they send a work order in writing for us to do. It is the warranty company's job to inform their customer if the diagnosed problem is covered. A-1 did its job to the fullest. We are a very high ranked company for many home warranty companies. Below is the letter written, by myself, to credit card company which is not a lie. We are a very small company and rely on word of mouth and recommendations. We do not lie or deceive or customers.
Letter to Miss [redacted] credit card company:
START:
September 24, 2015
RE: [redacted], [redacted] Chargeback
Miss [redacted] was a job that was sent to us via [redacted] This is a home warranty company which we do volumes of business with. There is a deductible associated with the home warranty company which varies depending on her warranty plan with [redacted] Her amount is $75. which you can see on the work order we received from [redacted] Miss [redacted] is aware of her deductible through the warranty company and it is again mentioned by the warranty company upon her service call request. Once the request is sent to us we contact the customer and set up an appointment time. We are to collect the deductible upon arrival at all [redacted] service calls. A-1 collects and keeps the amount for our service fee, which is just for coming to the home and diagnosing the problem. After diagnoses A-1 must contact [redacted] to get approval to fix the problem, that approval is based on the type of plan Miss [redacted] has with [redacted]
As you can see from the [redacted] work order the deductible states $75.00 which we collected. There is then our signed A-1 invoice ticket which she signed and gave her credit card to be ran on site. Her diagnosis was a rusted drain pan. [redacted] did not cover repair of this, A-1 has no control over her warranty plan. Upon telling her it is not covered we then offer to fix at regular price though our company, separate from warranty. This repair was not completed due to her not wanting to pay. Again, A-1 did go to the home and diagnose the problem which is all we are supposed to do on all warranty claims. Her warranty company denied the claim to make the repair, that is out of our control.
Thank you
[redacted]
END:
The deductible is not a part of the total of any service if it was approved or not approved. That fee is to cover the time of a technician and them researching and making a diagnosis. It is not deducted from the total cost of job in any case.
A-1 performed all duties we are supposed to do as we do with all our customers. We aim to please and are no way responsible for the actions of the warranty company. The make the decision to cover any repair or not. The are to communicate that with their customer.
Thank you,
[redacted], Owner
