A-1 Organics Reviews (1)
A-1 Organics (Lambland) ran the City and County of Denver Compost sale. They overcharged per their price lists and/or did not deliver full product.
On the City and County of Denver compost sale and mulch give-away, A-1 Organics (Lambland) operated the sale of compost. The charge for compost was $30 a yard. For someone with a short bed pickup like mine, they charged for one and a half yards or $45. In past years, using their loader service, they would put one loader bucket full in the pickup, spread it around, and then top it off with another partial loader bucket to put in the full one and a half yards of compost.
This year was different. They still charged for one and a half yards ($45), but only delivered a one yard loader bucket full which only filled up a small portion of the pickup truck. They then waived us out of the loading area without topping the bed full. They were doing this with every single truck before us and the trucks that I saw behind us. Our load did not fill up the full bed and even the top of the "mound" was barely up to the top of the bed level.
When I got home and unloaded the truck I measured the bed size. Even with the top of the bed would have been one and a half yards. At best A-1 gave me a scant yard, but definitely not the yard and a half that they charged me for. They charged me $45 for a yard of compost which was an overcharge of 50%.
