My fiance, mom and I applied for a house they have in NKC. The agent told us if we pay our deposit with our application and application fees they would not show the house to anyone else or let anyone else apply for the house. We don't hear anything for a few days until my mom received a call from the property agent saying that the people in the office (because the agent helping us worked outside the office) allowed someone else to apply. They told us they would review both of our applications at the same time and they had to first do a walk through through our current residence. I and everyone I know has never heard of a property manager needing to look at your current residence to see how clean you live? I have nothing to hide so that was not an issue to me; however, I did have an issue with being told the house would not be shown as long as we put the $1400 deposit down. They took a deposit and application from the other person as well. We got our $1400 deposit back immediately but they refused to give us our application fees back and kept changing their story. The house is still up as of right now which I don't understand why since there were two applications (us and another person). We also never heard anything back which I find incredibly unprofessional since they did receive money from us.
