A-1 Rooftop Chimney Sweep Inc

On 10-28-11 we had A-1 Rooftop Chimney Sweep do the annual chimney cleaning for our rental property located at [redacted] Invoice [redacted] for $149.15 listed on the condition report stated that the chimney had many separating seams and is warping. It recommended replacement. In my tax folder I still have the report from last year's annual chimney cleaning and the condition reports are virtually identical. After last year's report we were alarmed and replaced the entire chimney. I find it hard to believe that a brand new chimney is in the very same condition as the old one that we replaced. I paid the bill and included a note asking the company to contact me. They never did. One week later our renter called to say the house was filled with smoke. We hired a new company to check the chimney and they reported that the A-1 worker had simply pushed brushes from the bottom to the top of the chimney, and left the debris at the top. He had never removed the top piece and completed the cleaning. We paid for this second cleaning and have never had another problem. The second chimney cleaner we hired is a fireman, and he said that our new chimney is in perfect condition. There is no warping, no separated seams, is gas tight, and does not need replacement. I sill feel we are owed an explanation from A-1 Rooftop.
