A-1 Self-Storage Reviews (1)
I drove up to the electric gate a few days ago and was denied access. I entered the office and asked the woman who works there why my code was not working. She told me that my check was returned. I explained that my [redacted] checking account was closed due to fraudulent activity. I did not write a hot check. I wrote a good check before my [redacted] checking account was compromised. I then paid $44 using my debit card. She let me through the gate. Today I tried to enter the gate and was again denied access. The same woman (the names on the A-1 business card are [redacted] and [redacted]) told me that her supervisor said I am going to have to pay a $25 returned check fee. Number one. I should have been contacted immediately when the problem arose. I was not contacted. I was in a hurry, beginning a long journey through inclement weather, and not being able to access my storage unit was a huge inconvenience. Number two. I have never been given the mysterious supervisor's name or phone number and I have a big problem with the incompetent customer service and the whole passing the buck thing. Number three. I should not be penalized for the returned check as it was not my error. When I told the woman ([redacted], I assume)that I am going to move my things out of the unit and take my business elsewhere, she said,"You go ahead and do that, ma'am." No apologies for my trouble, just attitude and ugliness.
