A-1 Total Air Care Reviews (2)

Review: Mr. [redacted] (aka A-1 Total Air Care) came to my home and gave me an estimate to replace my upstairs HVAC system with a Day and Night system that I had purchased from him. He told me the $2400.00 charge would "take care of everything". Later we agreed to replacement of the duct owrk in the upstairs for an additional $1000.00. After three weeks of him being unable to complete the job, he asked for partial payment of $2400.00 promising to return the next week to finish the job. When he did not come back at the agreed upon time, I phoned him at which point he said he would not return and to "find someone else to finish the job". I called Bonney plumbing and AC to give an estimate. Mr. [redacted] had not done any of the work to code. The job was not even half complete. The system leaked from condensate into my ceiling causing water damage. Mr. [redacted] switched out the Day and Night equipment with inferior different system components that were nofunctional\broken. It will cost me over $10,000.00 to repair the damage that he had done.Desired Settlement: When I bring this matter to the attention of the courts Mr. Ramsey will be responsible for the total cost of the repair and replacement of the work that he contracted to finish. $10,000.00

From the start. I had a furnace and condensing unit on craigslist for sale, Mr [redacted] seen what a great deal it was and decided to purchase a 19 seer 2 ton 2 stage condensing unit, a DOWN FLOW EVAPORATOR COIL and a 96% multi position furnace, all day and night products and all brand new in the box! The condensing units wholesale price, my cost of $2,238.00 I sold all 3 components to him for $1,896.00. Does it seem I was out to put the screws to this guy? GREAT DEAL! He picked up the equipment. Weeks later he calls and wants me to put the equipment in for him. I took a look at the job in rescue. Very tight attic, all the duct work was deteriated. I tried to give the guy a good deal and told him I would remove his destroyed duct work from the attic, install all new duct work remove the old heat pump system in the attic, set the new furnace and coil in the attic, also remove the exsisting heat pump outdoor unit and install the new 19seer 2 ton cond unit.

Price of $3,400.

I have all the communication on my phone as we communicated thru text.. I told Mr [redacted] that he would need a permit and duct test on this job and the cost was $1,200 for that. He said he did not want a permit or a duct test on this hvac change out. Along with him not pulling permits on all the trees that he has removed, and setting a new propane tank and running gas piping. Not a person looking to the right thing, or looking for a contractor to pay full price for anything, more like someone that is looking for something for nothing!! The work that I did was to remove all the duct work in the attic, run all new duct work in the attic, remove the exsisting heat pump unit in attic, set new 96% furnace in attic along with his DOWN FLOW COIL, when we seen that the coil was not a horizontal coil, I purchased a brand new horizontal coil for the proper application. Also I removed the exsisting heat pump outdoor unit, set the new 19 seer 2 ton 2 stage cond unit wired, piped, and evacuated it. We put the new furnace on a new gorilla furnace stand and pan. Got the A/Crunning, still had the gas piping and the flue pipe along with running the secoundary drain line from the pan outside. The customer texted me and said that the inferior coil that I installed had a crack in the pan and was leaking. Demanding I bring his coil (the downflow coil) back as I got him a faulty coil, Like I manufactured the coil right? At that point I was done with this person. Next I get an text saying he got a price from [redacted] for $6,000 to fix my mess! Remember all the duct work was installed, brand new duct, brand new furnace in attic along with the new horizontal coil, all the piping and welding is complete, the outdoor unit has been installed, welded, wired and evacuated. I received $2,400 for what I have done. I lost money at this point!!

Then this guy gives me a attitude of he wants $6,000 dollars to fix my mess????? I have attached the letter that I received this last Saturday, that is ridiculous to say the least. The credit card charge is $5961.00 with no mention of a company name it was paid to. Then an invoice from [redacted] plumbing, with a description of work is: finish an unfinished install by another company and bring up to [redacted] standards $6,461.00 no signed! And no credit card #. Bogus Paperwork! What needed to be done is replace a $300.00 evaporator. The gas piping and flue install was never paid to me, there was $1,000 left to be paid to me. That was enough money to get the coil replaced! Where the heck does $6,000 come from??? HE is a person out to get whatever he can for nothing! Why didn’t he call bonnie, Gilmore, putman, bell brothers? Because he wanted something for nothing. Then to send me this is unbelievable, I gave him a deal in every way shape and form. When I figured out just who he is I was done! Now to make things even more interesting on who this guy is, look at what he wrote on the complaint to the Revdex.com. $10,000 to finish.. REALLY? I hope you all see what I see! Its very clear what a piece of work this man is. I have all the communication between this guy and myself and will be willing to share it with you, in court and contractors lic board. Along with this man not pulling a permit for a thing he has done at his new residence.

Thanks

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I have photographs, receipts, descriptions from [redacted] who finished the incomplete and sub=standard work that was started by Mr. [redacted]. I can substantiate all claims as well as receipts for the work that was completed by another contractor at Mr. [redacted]'s request. I have the text communications to show he communicated with me to have someone else finish his work. Just provide me with the method to provide this information to the Revdex.com.

Review: I signed a contract with A1 Total Air Care to supply and install 2 complete HVAC systems in a mixed use property I had recently purchased. I had paid a total of $16,000 as per the contract, more money is owed when the job is complete. When I signed the contract back in early January, He said once they start, it will take 2 weeks to complete. Well, here it is mid July and not only are they NOT done, but the owner, [redacted], told me this job was costing him too much money, and could not continue. He's left my building before completing the job, and left a job not quite half done, that will have to be fixed, and then completed by someone else for way more than what was owed. The upstairs has a normal system, but the downstairs commercial has a state of the art ductless system that no-one, including A1 Total Air Care, is qualified to install. I was up-sold on that system, which cost $9,000 more than the original quote, because they said it had to be done that way. In the end, they weren't even qualified to install it. Instead of getting qualified, and making things right, they just quit.Desired Settlement: Have A1 Total Air Care pay a qualified installer to finish the job as per contract

Re: [redacted] tatoo. This job was totally discussed and agreed upon between [redacted] and the owner of [redacted] tatoo. After Mr [redacted] and Mr [redacted] had made the deal on what needed to be done to both the upstairs installation and the installation of the [redacted]'s. When Mr [redacted] was ready for the installation of the [redacted] equipment, he tried to contact Mr [redacted] with no success. He contacted me after numerous unsuccesful attempts to get ahold of Troy. I also could not contact Mr [redacted]. As I was not involved with this job at all! After I spoke with Mr [redacted] regarding his situation I wanted to help the man as he seemed like a great guy. I did research on the equipment that Mr [redacted] proposed to him. The 3 ton [redacted] with 8 indoor units that they agreed upon. Was not at all possible as [redacted]'s specifications require a 4 ton minium outdoor unit to handle 8 indoor units. At that point the proposal that Mr [redacted] gave Mr [redacted] did not work. As a 4 ton outdoor unit was much more money. I decided to help Mr [redacted] so I ordered the 4 ton [redacted] equipment. My cost on that equipment was 0ver $9,000 alone. Along with the cost of the split system heat pump system, duct work etc. I had my subs hang the indoor [redacted] equipment, and run the condensate piping which Mr [redacted] was suppose to have his plumber run and supply the piping. (Extra cost to A-1). My subs proceeded to do the copper piping and the other installation of this equipment. As my cost had exceeded $18,000 in materials and labor, I notified Mr [redacted] that I had to have more money to proceed, and his response was this job took to long and he needed a discount. There was still $6200 left in the job. And I could tell he was not going to pay at that point. I was upside down way to much at this point and out of money. Im not working for free. I did what I could to help this man, He has $6,200 left in this job that he can have someone finish this job. Thanks
