We contacted [redacted] to rebuild a booth for our new restaurant. He failed to do the job as specified.He required a refundable deposit of $750.00 to start the job and we wrote him a check for the deposit amount even though our insurance company had guaranteed payment to him.When he delivered the booth it was no to the specs he had agreed upon. When confronted with this he promised to complete the back board as initially contracted.He required the payment in full in order to deliver the booth and a check was issued for $2460.00When he delivered the booth he gave us $ 400.00 of the deposit back and told us to come to his shop the next day and he would have the balance he owed us. He was not at his shop as promised so we came back a few hours later but he was still not there. I entered into a verbal agreement for A-1 Upholstery to repair my living room couch for $1,500.00, on 7/1/14. On July 1, 2014 I entered into a verbal agreement for A-1 Upholstery to repair my living room couch. We agree on $500.00 for material, and $500.00 for each piece (there were 2 pieces). I paid him $500.00 in cash and wrote out a check for another $500.00. I was told that he had prior obligations until about the third week of July. After that he start the job. It is now September 23, 2014. He has not attempted to call or contact me. I have left numerous phone messages but he has never returned any. When I go by the shop the door is always locked, even though the "OPEN" sign is out. When I went by today it sounded like he locked the door just as I was about to pull on the handle (it was lock of course). Desired SettlementI would like my $1,000.00 back that I gave him. I'm sure he didn't use any of it to purchase the material.

Owner has had vehicle for 4 years and was paid up front for all restoration and customization of a classic vehicle. I want my vehicle back, as is, and the money left over for the work. The restoration and customization was supposed to take 6 months to a year. It has been 4 years now and the car is not even half-way complete. I paid the owner $23,000 up-front for the services and now that I am done waiting for the project to be done, after multiple requests, the owner will not arrange to return my vehicle in its present state and refund the remainder of the money I paid up-front. The owner has told me on multiple occasions that he does not have any of my money, even though it has not been spent on my vehicle. He makes arrangements with me and no-shows, he avoids my phone calls to his cell phone and his shop phone and he refuses to disclose the location of my vehicle, as it is no longer at his shop in Silver Springs. He claims to not have any of my money, but he is always posting pictures of work he has completed on his personal projects and new shop tools.Product_Or_Service: customization and restoration of vehicleDesired SettlementI want my vehicle back in whatever its current state is as I no longer have faith in the owners ability to be honest or complete the project. I want a quote from him of how much of the $23,000 has actually been spent on my vehicle so that I can get an estimate from another reputable shop to justify his quote. I want the remainder of my $23,000 back. Proof of billing also.
