I had a bad problem with a foundation at my homeNot a simple fixPiers, bracing, and crack work was requiredThe company salesman was knowledgeable and straight forward in his recommendationsThe workers we polite and respectful of my propertyweeks later we had a inch rain in hours and not a drop of water in my basementI did some work on the grade and made sure the gutters were repaired and draining properlyOverall Mid America offered me a cost effective solution that solved my problemsNo over selling no hard close tactics no surprisesI highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again if I ever need foundation work again

Contacted *** *** for an estimate and explanation of work needed, sounded good.Took a month to get them here while my brick house was being jacked up, the jack slipped house dropped, felt like an earthquake.they finished the job collected the balance and left.On a daily basis finding cracks all over my home.called and complained, never did hear from ***,secretary calls and says ***,the very person who did the job,is coming out to check it out, he was callous, said what they did would not cause the cracks, which is **,said *** will call me.Here it is a week later and still no call.At this point I do not want to see any face but *** ***s to see for himself. The cracks around my upstairs window is obviously from a drop and anybody could see that.Very disappointed.I know accidents can happen, but take responsibility for them. This is like a hit and run on a vehicle.Hope no one else has this experience!

We have attempted to contact the owners of the property to set up a time to meet with them and have not had any success, maybe
due to holidays? Please have them call us so we can set up a time to meet with them

While the work and workmanship seem to be fine, the customer service, general attitude and assistance was very poor when there was a question. Again...the work is, "working as it was intended", but he would not put that in a letter because they don't just go around creating letters for the sake of creating letters." This was regarding a home sale after the work was completed 13-14 years previously. All we requested was something stating the piers were still functioning as intended. Though he went to the home, checked the structure and agrees they have not moved, he won't put it in writing. Attitude was negative to client and me, and therefore, would never refer this company.

I am sorry for some reason we did not receive this till this morning.  I will turn this over to Mr. [redacted] and we will give our response with in the next couple of day.

[redacted] contracted for us to install 3 piers on her, at least 80 yr. old house in the city of St. Louis.  When I looked around her house there were cracks in the brick work on the back of the house on the right side of the house there is cracking in the brick.  There is brick cracking on the other side of the house as well, it is an older house.  The interior of the house had cracks in the kitchen all over the rear kitchen window was out of square; the kitchen closet door did not work because of the settlement.  There were cracks in the interior walls in the living room from past settlement.  That house has been settling for many years it’s an older house.  The settlement is common.  The interior walls on the first floor and the second floor had been patched and repaired many times over the years.   There has been tuck pointing work as well on the exterior brick work.  The worst settlement was the right rear corner of the house.  We installed three piers on that corner.  She wanted us to raise and realign the corner to try and close the brick cracking, the interior wall and ceiling cracking and to get the closet door to work better.  The house is full masonry home with a block foundation, with an old and weak footing.  We told her we would try to correct the problem areas the best that we can.  During the raising of the right rear corner of the house one of the bolts that securer the hydraulic cylinder to the steel bracket came loose and pulled out.  It did not cause any problems with the piers or foundation walls or house.  This happens on old block foundation walls and uneven footings because there were still two piers already in place holding the foundation wall and house.  We reinstalled the bolt back into the hydraulic cylinder and continued to raise the right rear corner of the house.  We closed up some of the brick separation and the interior cracks, got the back kitchen window to square back up and work better, also, the closet door to work better than it had in a long time.  If old cracks have been previously been repaired in the past, in the areas worked, some times during a raise in the affected area the old cracks may reopen.  My employees finished the job, she did not pay the final payment, I went down to pick up the final payment about a week later, she was very nice to me, paid me and told me my guys did a good job, she never mentioned any problems at all, anywhere.  If we had cause a problem it would have showed up right away.  We finished the job 11-8-2017.   When Ms. [redacted] called back about 1 ½ months later she said she was having a problem in the front of her house not the back where we did the work.  She said she had cracking in the right front corner of the house the opposite end of the house from the work area.  I sent the foreman back to her house to look at her concerns in her living room area.  He checked the basement foundation walls; he said the same cracks that were there before we started the work had not changed.  He called me form Ms. [redacted] house that day, I told him to tuck point the right side of the house for free to show her we cared about her.  He also took bench mark reading of her house the same day and found nothing had changed.  When we finish every job we put bench mark reading on the house so if the customer thinks they have a problem with new or old settlement we can go to the bench marks to take readings to see if there has been any new or old movement.  There was nothing new.  I told her we have not had much rain or snow in our area for about 9 months, dry soil causes movement or settlement.  That old house will continue to settle in the future where it was not piered.  I will be happy to stop by her house and talk to her about her concerns.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Should not take this long to get back to a complaint,...

company does not care about the damage and will do nothing.Mr.[redacted] should have come the first time and we would not be here now.I have taken pictures and need it fixed immediately.my complaint still stands because of the lack of concern.I wonder if this happened to mister [redacted],would it be so dismissed? Extremely disappointed for the hit and run.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I used A-1 and [redacted] to do foundation piering work and waterproofing of my basement. From the initial meeting with [redacted] to the completion of the work the whole staff was knowledgeable, courteous and did exactly what they promised and we contracted to have done.

When I shopped for these services I look at 5 different local foundation repair companies and based on the recommendations from past customers and the fact I was able to work directly with the owner I selected this firm. Also, their long standing A grade on both the Revdex.com and [redacted] made me comfortable with the selection. Some of the bigger firms who do lot's of advertising were high pressure and I really did not like that approach.

Very pleased with the work and would recommend.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I'll agree the home is old but yes there was damage done to my home from the pier slipping, and the balance was collected the day of finish,I have the dated and signed contract.Have not seen Mr.[redacted] since the day he sold the job and left with $1400.00 cash in his hand. The day the jack slipped they couldn't finish fast enough and get the money and flee.Yes, they came back and filled in a crack PARTIALLY and did a [redacted] job on that. This is an evasive tactic. I'll fix my repairs sorry I ever called them in the first place  and will give nothing but bad lip service for them. GOOD LUCK Hope to never see any of them again.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
