Poor customer serivice regarding a recipet of services. I purchased an engine from A-1 auto and Salvage on 2/18/15 the total amount was 2085.25. I was given a recipet for my credit card transaction and a hand written invoice on yellow copy paper with the mileage and the decription of the engine on it. I was contacted by letter in Feburary by [redacted] stating that my car had a warrenty enhancement on it about excessive oil consumption. Anything that was purcahsed regarding this issue can be reimbursed. I sent in all required information. [redacted] then conacted me on 5/21/15 stating that they needed "A legible copy of the invoice for A-1 Auto" I then contacted A-1 and informed them of the issue. They took my name and number and said they would see what they could do. I did not hear from them after a week so I contacted them again. I was told that the gentlement that was handling that was not at work yet but he would call me back. I called again on 6-9-15. I was told that the only recipet I would get was the one that I have. I told them that [redacted] requested that I contact them due to this issue. They told me "take the recipet up there to them." I told the gentleman that [redacted] was in [redacted] and I lived in [redacted] A also informed him that when I made a copy of the recipet/invoice it still was not legible. He told me that he could not help me. Desired SettlementI would like a copy of the original invoice to submit to [redacted] for my reimbursement. Business Response To answer some of issues in this complaint. The first is that A-1 Auto Salvage does not have any hand written invoices, all invoices are computer printed. I tried to explain to [redacted] that our invoices are not saved to computer and that they are filed away and it would take us a little time to find the invoice, being it was sold over 4 months ago and once we did and tried to fax it to here it would be the probably be in the same faint quality that she was faxing to [redacted] We tried to explain to her that sometimes the receipts can be made darker on a copy machine and that would help when faxing her copy to [redacted] She was not happy with this and her attitude didn't help the situation either. Not sure how her copy became so illegible but to get the best legible copy, it would be best to pick it up here at the office.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I was not explained any of that information and the copy that I have is not a computerized copy.I was not offered a copy to be "faxed" to me at all. If I were offered a another copy I would have gladly accepted that. I was not offered another copy. If this copy that they have exists I would like it. I was also informed by [redacted] that if A1 Auto would provide me with a letter on their letter head stating what I purchased and when it was purchased they would also accept this. Again I was not informed that they would look for this and fax it to me. If that were the case I would have excepted that and not filed a compliant.Final Business Response
