A 24 Hour Bonding Company

I was told, a long time ago that the bond was paid in full. Just today I was told that I owe over $500. Something fishy....I paid $5,000 plus fees. I am sure that I paid by Visa credit card (or possibly part by check). Some months, maybe a year ago, the person that I spoke with said that I have paid this account in full. They couldn't communicate between offices, and as a result I got several calls telling me that I owed a lot of money, and then they told me that the other office hadn't gotten the message as to the payment!! I wonder if they were trying to con me. I am not a stupid senior!!Desired SettlementI want a statement indicating that I owe nothing, and an apology for the harassment and anxiety that this debacle has caused me.Business Response In response to customer's complaint, customer was contacted a couple of weeks ago by agent because our system reflected that customer still had an outstanding balance of $537. When agent spoke with customer she disputed the charges and agent advised to give us a couple of weeks to pull our old receipt books to see if somehow her final payment was not logged into system. I have since researched the information and we did find customer's payment. I have contacted customer and advised that issue has been resolved, I updated our system and will be mailing out a receipt to show account has been paid in full. We were aware of the discrepancy with customer after the initial contact and we advised customer that we would research the information and call her back. We have not harassed the customer and we do reserve the right to collect when a customer has an outstanding balance with our company. But if there is an dispute we will exhaust all options to resolve the matter. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)no research was done earlier. This matter should have been resolved much sooner. I don't need a response from them, but I hope no one has to deal with their incompetence. They don't communicate between offices like they should and I was told, falsely, that I still owed money. Glad they finally figured out this mess!!
