Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/06/14) */
Mrs***'s move was conducted in a very professional and honest way,
***
***, the movers lead, estimated her move to be hours move not counting the pick up and delivery of her commercial elliptical she had plus the traveling time, she agreed to that and singed our binding agreement
After about an hour of her move started, she called me complaining that her move should take hours, I went to her condo and documented everything, she had an access of $feet each way from her condo to the truck, she had a lot of big nice expensive furniture to be moved, with very tight steep stair way in her nice hardwood condo
*** is a professional experinced and efficient mover, he is very friendly and had an eighteen years old teenager with him, *** and also *** had ***, who is our regular mover who worked for us for over one year, ***
***
Then she started to complain about everything, right, left and center during the first couple of hours of her move, she wanted to be charged for only five hours.***
After two hours of her uncomfortable atmosphere, I offered her to get everything back like it was and we would not charge her any money for the work that we had done at all, and the company will take up all the charges, then she can call her previous movers to move her and charge only for five hours workShe told us to finish the job
We moved her piano and we charged her only $150, while if she wants to hire some piano specialist, she would pay them $to $600, like she did when she moved the piano in
She complained because we did not have big enough socket for her baby garnde piano, I had some other guys to bring the sockets from the warehouse while her move was still going and did not stop the movers at all, since they had many other items to move before the piano, so she tried to make not having the socket delayed her move, but in fact the absence of the socket did not influence her moving time at all, and again we documented that with videos and pictures because we expected her to complain

Mr.*** was truthful about most of the things
in his statement, which is highly appreciated! But there were few
misunderstandings, for one thing, I offered my apologies to him more than once,I even went to his house on the first day of the move to personally explain the situation and to show him that we care, even though, I just work in the office and don't usually go to the clients house, but I felt we need to show some respect to our client
In regard to the insurance, the basic insurance that we have is required by Alberta law, and all moving companies have the same insurance at no cost to the client, and if Mr.*** was really concerned about his furniture, it would be his responsibility to inquire about the extra coverage that we offer if it was not explained to him by us
In regard to his desk, I recall he told me he bought it brand new for $90, not $
But even if Mr*** bought the extra coverage insurance, he would still be compensated according the market value of the desk, and the desk was few years old
But as a goodwill to Mr.***, the company is the willing to pay the $to make Mr*** Happy
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/06/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept their response for the following reasons
When my computer desk was brought in destroyed, the mover was only interested in getting my signature on their invoice or receipt and leavingIt wasn't until after the movers had left that I discovered so many more things were damaged
This was not my first time moving and I have never seen such rough treatment of a customer's furniture beforeFor just one example, the armoire I mentioned previously (which was wrapped in plastic) did not have a mark on it before the moveNow the left side is scraped from top to bottom and gouged on the frontI find this kind of treatment unacceptableOther items were damaged in the same way as well to use another example, a lampshade was crushedI was told by the office I should have brought this to the mover's attention while they were still hereWere the movers prepared to stay around while I unpacked everything? No, they left as soon as I had signed the invoice. It was only then that I discovered the extent of all the damageKind of hard to show all of the damage to them when they have left
As I mentioned before I was quoted one price for the entire move and charged nearly double when my property was being dropped off
***
***
To settle this I would need to be charged only what I was originally quoted which I have previously statedBy my estimation that would be $605.00, not the $I was forced to pay while they held all of my belongings hostage on their truck

AAA BUDGET MOVING, moved the lady named above on June 16, We dealt with her with absolute honestly and transparency, when I booked her over the phone, she downplayed the amount of furniture she had in her house, she even had a piano
that she did not tell us about, which is not an item in the house that can be easily missed, so she mislead usSo we sent her a three ton truck which we were confident it would be enough to accommodate her belongings according to the information she providedEven though it was not our fault, we offered her a second trip at no charge for the commute back and forth as a good well, but she refused, because she only had the small items left in her old house, and she wanted to do it in her personal carWe did a very minor damage to her wall, we offered her to send the craftsman to fixe it, but she said just take half of the piano charge off the bill and then she would fixed it insteadEven though, it was too much money to take of for that very little damage, but I agreed to do it to make her happy
I agreed to refund her $110.81, and refunded that amount on June 18, I emailed the refund proofAfter that she kept emailing us that she did not get the refund. But it showed up on our bank statement, and I even called our credit card company to confirm the refund, and it was thereI emailed her back and told her that

Hi
When we conducted Mrs. [redacted] move we had an injured employee, and contacted her by phone and told her we need some extra time to get a replacement, the driver and I drove the moving truck to her house to assure her that we are...

doing her move and not leaving her stranded, after we got the replacement and we started working, only then when we started to charge her, we apologized and she was ok then.
He had an extra delivery but she expected that to be at no charge, and I told her that extra time and fuel and we must get paid for that, she was treated very fairly.
I visited her three time during that day to make sure everything was fine, she was there all time at the pick up location and she never mentioned there was anything more needs to be picked up, also she was there at the drop off location all the time, and the move went very smoothly with no damages.
She called me few days later asking for more items to be picked up and I told her we would have to charge some money and offered her a good discount but she want it for free, I said politely, we have charge some money at least to cover the expenses, she refused, then she started to bring up some complaints about damages of furniture and the floor, but I know for a fact there was no such thing specially after I did the bill with her at the end of the day, I checked her place and she was happy with the move.

There are a lot to be said and ..... About this lady, but I would rather mention it at the right time with written documentation to support my claims.
Anyway, basically I deny all her allegations, and simply she was trying really hard...

to underpay us for the service , and I believe, not to pay us any money at all if she could, but she did not succeed.
Right from the start, the guys started at 9 am, but she grapped the contract from the guys and wrote 9:23 am. But I was trying to make her happy, and started the charge from 9:23 am. The movers texted me and were worried that she would not pay us.
She was quoted by me the hourly rate of $115 per hour plus one hour for traveling time from office to office.
She was movig from Edmonton to stony plain, and did not want to pay us for driving there neither for the fuel. She said I want to pay for work that you do but not driving. I tried to explain but did not want to understand, she said this is my first time to move, I said you can call all moving companies in Edmonton and find out, there is no Moving company, would drive your furniture from one town to the other without charging you for the time and the fuel.
I have never told this lady we take cheques, forms of payment are posted on the contract and on company's website.
But she was trying not to pay us, and said I have only $400 in cash then I will pay you after you finish, of course, we knew what she was trying to do, and we told her she can pay us by credit card, but also she refused to do that, we told her the contract stated clearly that you have to pay all charges before unloading and you agreed to that, then she reluctantly gave us her credit card.
When the movers finished, she grapped the contract and forcely wrote the subtotal, and refused to add up the all the charges.
I have a lot more details to mention, with supportive documents if need be.
By the way, I ended up deducting one hour and fifteen minutes from her bill, but yet she expects more.

Unfortunately we deny Mr. [redacted]'s claim based on the following reasons:
1. The truck was sent to him based on the information he provided to us, he down played his move size, also he never was told by us how many hours his move will...

take, but was quoted the hours rate. Even though, we tried to make him happy and gave him half an hour discount for taking few minutes extra for packing his furniture, he had a lot of furniture.
2. The customer never paid for insurance, but he is qualified for the basic insurance which is $.60 per pound or repairs.
3. In regard to damages, we did not damage any of the items he claimed,[redacted] he sent us the pictures, and clearly anyone can tell that those damages were purposely made to get money back for it, specially the mattress;the face was peeled off on a big scale and clearly not the damage that would be caused simply by moving the mattress. The movers also mentioned the damaged for the dresser that was caused by one of his kids[redacted]
4. Despite all that was mentioned, we told him that will do the repairs as much as possible but he refused.he just want money back.
5. We do not have the legs for his table, and he was told that.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/10/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not agree with his point of view. I sent the email to the business and business never replied for damaged items and never told he does not have table legs or they did not damaged the stuff that what they are claiming now . He never get any signature from me when delivery was completed that items are delivered in good shape. When I called him and told him about damaged stuff he asked for pictures. After receiving pictures he said he will respond back after investigation but he never responded back to me for three to four weeks and he just responded me only when I sent him reminder by email that I denied. His opinion was that stuff is damaged by my kids that I denied. I never told him anything about the down size of my move. Whoever I told/showed the movers about the stuff that was damaged. I don't accept his point of view the Business has to provide me claim form and if insurance company rejects the damage, I would accept. I don't believe the business statement as they are lying and they took advantage of me using different tactics and improper documentation and getting my signature in advance before the move. In stead giving me proper final bill business took picture of his invoice and sent me.They damaged the stuff due to lack of packing accessories. They did not wrap the stuff before move that was reason that mattress is damaged because it was dragged on floor with out covering. The business did follow the proper documenting procedure for the move and charged my credit card without settling the final bill.

Hi,
Mr.[redacted] mentioned that our movers were careless, and I totally have to disagree with him, because those movers, very professional, friendly and do what the client wishes. Mr. [redacted] had a box spring that was too big for the stairway,...

the movers told him it will not go through, but he asked them to force it through because he needed his mattress, and the movers did what he asked for, they caused a scratch on the wall by forcing the box spring. Mr. [redacted] turned around and said I did not ask you to damage the wall. the stand of the company is, we will accept accountability for the scratch, because our movers were supposed to have Mr. [redacted] to sign a disclaimer saying that forcing the box spring through, may cause a damage to box spring or the wall, and that would be totally his responsibility.
