Able Appliance was called to fix my dryer that wasn't heating, but didn't fix the problem. It still won't heat & won't honour their labor warranty. Able Appliance was called to fix my dryer that wasn't heating. [redacted] came to my house, but didn't even check the back of the dryer at all and just said it was a clog to the vent. I was at work when he came on June 17/14 and my mom paid [redacted] $77.00 cash on June 17/14 which I have a receipt for. On August 21, I called him to let him know my dryer still wasn't heating up and that he didn't fix the problem. He never repaired my dryer and basically left without checking it thoroughly and now won't honour his 90 parts and 1 year labour warranty without charging me again for his services. It's Invoice #[redacted] and GST#[redacted] for my receipt from June 17/14. Able Appliance was hired to fix my dryer and it still isn't working. I called [redacted], the owner, within his 90 day work guarantee to see if he would honour that. [redacted]. [redacted]Desired SettlementI hope to get my $77.00 dollars cash back from Able Appliance. [redacted] didn't fix my dryer and didn't honour his 90 day parts warranty or his 1 year labour warranty. [redacted]Business Response In response to the complaint against my company I would like to say when she first called I offered to come back to check her dryer again. I was originally called to repair the dryer the complaint being long drying time. I removed the venting from the dryer and ran it. It had good heat and airflow. The venting needed cleaning which I do not do. I told the person who had met there all of this.I didn't charge for any parts as it didn't need any that day. Two months later she wanted me to come back and supply parts and labour for her dryer free of charge. I told her there would be a charge for all parts and labour but no service call charge. She continuing arguing that I should have fixed the dryer with parts it didn't need at the time and added she didn't think I knew what I was doing. I've been in business over 20 years as an owner operator and I was insulted by her remarks. I always treat my customers fairly and honestly and I told her most intelligent customers would thank me for not putting unnecessary parts in their dryer. If the dryer had needed parts, I would be crazy not to install them and charge for the parts and labour to install them. In closing it should be noted that this issue would have been resolved by myself had she not insulted me and understood that the warranty would only be on the parts suppled(which there were none)and labour.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Regardless of the owner's response above, the bottom line is... my dryer still isn't working, which I paid Able Appliance to come out and fix. It wasn't fixed properly the first time, and I have no assurance that it would be fixed properly the next time since [redacted] admitted no diagnostic test was ever done at the initial appointment. He didn't even open the back of the dryer, or even clean the dryer vent himself, to make sure it was done correctly and working properly. [redacted] So, how could he know it was working properly when my parents had to clean the vent after he left? [redacted]. [redacted]. When I came back and tried it after from being away vacation, it still wasn't working. Why should I pay the same company to come out again to fix my dryer a second time, when it wasn't fixed properly the first time? [redacted]. I just want my money back for not getting proper service for the money I paid to him. [redacted]
