$1,400.00. That amount was to cover material and startup funds, the total amount to be paid for job was $2,000. I then hired a third party person or subcontracted a [redacted], the homeowner was aware of this and was also in contact with this person, [redacted]. While working a separate job on this address, the ownership of the home was switch from first person to the current homeowner, therefore the proposal for this job was also done under my company name as means to minimize time and resources of finding and hiring another contractor. The subcontractor [redacted] was already working on the site for previous owner and that is how he was contracted into this current job. I was in there at residence when Mr. [redacted] advised homeowner that he would be back in a short amount of time to begin the work. I left the residence with the impression that he would return at promised time. I had no issues with Mr. [redacted] on previous contract so he was never deemed unreliable until this incident. From speaking with homeowner, complainant, Mr. [redacted] never did return to residence and spoke with homeowner several times to make arrangements to meet and still never followed up with her. I attempted to reach Mr. [redacted] but found that he had since changed his phone number. I was able to get connected to a family member of his to finally get his new cell number. Upon getting in contact with Mr. [redacted], I advised him just to refund the homeowner the full amount, which I felt was better to just refund than to make the homeowner wait any longer. Through out this whole ordeal, I have been in constant contact with the homeowner, complainant. I also have offered to personally do the job with funds from my own pocket but she declined since work was already done by another company. The homeowner did express her gratitude to my offer and was never in poor favor of me personally. . Since the full amount has still not been refunded, the homeowner has involved [redacted]. I have been in contact with and have fully cooperated with the detective assigned to the case as well. I mistakenly trusted Mr. [redacted] to represent my company but as the owner I am doing all that I can to get the rightful result for the homeowner. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thank you,[redacted]
