A A Equipment Aros Trailers Reviews (1)
On March 19 I dropped off my riding mower, a John Deere LT 160 for service as the engine would not start. I have had this mower serviced at AA before and had full confidence that my needs would be taken care of based on prior experiences. I advised Service Manager T[redacted] that the mower had recently ran and would not start after being parked for about two weeks. Mr. [redacted] told me he would have the mower looked at and give me a call when the problem was identified. Mr. [redacted] called me on March 25 and informed me that the carburetor needed to be replaced and that the cost to do this work would be nearly three hundred dollars. I replied that three hundred dollars was more than I could afford and that I would be by to pick up the mower. I did in fact pick up the mower on March 26 after paying $50.00 for diagnostic labor. Once I had the mower at my house my intent was to remove the carburetor and determine if it could be rebuilt rather than replaced. Once I removed the air cleaner I could clearly see that the choke was closed while the throttle was NOT in the choke position. I observed that the choke linkage appeared to be stuck and would not respond to the throttle control, I manually moved the linkage with my hand and the choke opened and was again engaged with the throttle control. I then turned the key and the mower started right up, I drove it off of my trailer and mowed my property for the next ninety minutes with no problems whatsoever. While mowing I could not help but reflect on how this could have happened. It was either extreme incompetence or outright fraud. After acknowledging receipt of my complaint letter with a voice message, I have since been unable to make contact with the service manager by telephone. It is my position there will be no resolution by me alone trying to work directly with the employees of AA Equipment in El Cajon.
