A & A Plumbing and Electric

On July 26, 2012 I called the company to reschedule an appointment which I had to cancel approximately 1 week earlier. The receptionist/dispatcher said she would send someone right out. It was very prompt and a couteous very young man was on my doorstep. I explained to him the problems I had and he proceeded to work right away on an installation of a new faucet I had purchased to replace a broken one in a bathroom lavatory. After he started, he went outside to turn the water off at the water meter. Hee came back in almost immediately and said there was a leak at the meter and that it was on the Water Company's side of the meter. . I follwoed him back outside, looked at meter and indeed there was a slow drizzle. Not being a plumber or meter reader, I did not know where the water was coming from,, so I called the water company and told them what the young plumber had told me. The lady stated that the problem I descibed was not on the water company's part of the meter and asked to speak with the plumber. They spoke and I was told her reply, to which the plumber responed,"I can tighten a bolt and fix that--no problem". We returned to the inside and he got tools to go back outside to the meter. At that point I told him that I would go to hardware store to purchase another to replace another faucet in the kitchen, which only had a leak, and could have been repaired. ( It was a warranted product and the manufacturer had sent parts to repair it). The plumber said it would be better to just replace it with a different brand (one that the repair persons seem to prefer because parts can easily be obtained from the local suppliers) ( They do stick together ). I agreed to purchase that brand in hopes to save some costs to me. As I was leaving the home, I drove by the meter area and the plumber was there doing something further at the meter..

When I retured about 30 minutes later, he explained to me that the leak had worsened ( after turning the water back on). We waled back out to the meter and water was gushing at a very high rate.At my request he again turned the meter off and told me that a major repair would be needed estimating the cost to be between $450 and$ 1550 . I am a widow and live on a minimal fixed income. I also have a totally disabled son and pay some of his expenses. therfore, I was paniced and told him to return the next morning to make the repairs neede at the least expense possible .

The young plumber returned the next morning very early and worked alone, digging out pipe that had been broked the day before. I have no way of knowing what was done, if he had been reponsible for the gushing water while he was tightning the bolt or just what occured. I only know that in the end, I was presented a bill for #830+ and was asked to call the office to arrange payment. I did as asked and young lady instced me to pay $150 at that time and make furhter payments once a month. I am certain that an interest charge will be added o balance.
