A & A Transmissions Reviews (1)

This is in response to a complaint filed by [redacted]. The vehicle we have is a 2006 Lexus IS 250. This vehicle came into our possession on 01/12/2016 for the following reason customer stated that he tried to install a new battery in the Walmart parking lot it was late and he couldn't see...

the positive and negative terminals location and he installed the battery backwards positive to negative and negative to positive and attempted to start the vehicle and heard pop and saw smoke from fuse area. After that the car was dead nothing powered up even after he put cables on the correct way. we brought vehicle in attempted to gain access to vehicles computers we had no voltage at connector upon further inspectior we found fusible !ink main to be blown (open) we purchased part thru dealer after customer ok'd repair we installed and power returned to vehicie. We attempted access to powertrain control module and no communication popped up on our diagnostic equipment we attempted access to other computers (i.e a bs, security and b.c.m) and access granted. Following the published data trouble tree we verified powers and grounds at P.C.M it was determined computer had failed during the battery installed incorrectly. Called customer advised him of our findings and cost of said repair Around the date of 04/28/2016 customer's mother completed paperwork for easy pay finance we ran application thru the system she was approved for 1500.00 called customer back advised him of the total repair cost up to that point 2294.71. They came and signed documents and the 1500.00 funded. We used that money to order a computer we advised them that the computer was on order and a core computer there original computer would be given to the company when the computer was delivered. We installed the new computer attempted to program the computer with proper programming specific to that vehicle with our equipment due to limits placed on us we could not install the software. We called customer and left a message to what had occurred. The customer showed up at our location that evening at closing 5 pm. We explained that we would be taking the vehicle to the dealership for the software to be installed he agreed. We towed vehicle to dealer and the programming was completed. We received a call from the dealer they told us vehicle was running but only with the fuel pressure sensor bypassed. They advised the cost to replace was 1500.00. We declined and picked up vehicle. We called customer and quizzed him reference his reason for changing the battery which caused all this to occur. He told us that shortly after his mom purchased the vehicle the car would be driving fine and all of a sudden the vehicle would just die. He said that is the reason he thought it was the battery. We informed him that since we had no communication with the computer we were not able to see that had occurred now that the new computer is installed it gives us the reason for the stalling. As of the writing of this response we have had no contact from the customer. Thanks for allowing us to give our side of the story and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to give us a call.Sincerely,[redacted]Manager A&A Transmission Center
