On June 6, at 10:09a.m., we were dispatched by North Richland Hills Police Department to tow a vehicle they deemed "abandoned" from an apartment complexUpon arrival our driver was notified by the police officer on scene that the vehicle was stolen out of HoustonThe car was pulled into a
parking spot, just as any resident parksThe officer did not mention as to how they located the stolen carI cannot explain why the person who spoke with Ms*** was not aware that the vehicle was stolen, other than he or she were not paying close attention, or if Ms*** happened to speak with one of our night dispatchers who do not have the computer access that would provide that informationShe has our sincerest apologies, as I can imagine how confusing that may have beenWe have no way of contacting registered owners, other than by Certified Mail, which we send out on the Third day of the vehicle being in our possession, AS the State of Texas requiresA Certified Letter was mailed to Ms*** on June 8, to the same address (according to title registration) that appears on the Drivers License she provided upon picking up her car from our facilityThat Letter did in fact reach her post office and notice was left by the mail carrierI realize this was not in the manner of time she would have preferred, as these letters do take time before reaching their final destinationI also have no explanation as to the absence of her license plates, other than the Constable was badly misinformed since they were attached when we towed it and even still when the car was paid out and releasedThe notification fees are established by TDLRMost automobile insurance companies wil cover the costs associated with towing, storage, notification and any additional fees if provided receipt of payment from the insuredWe are very sympathetic to Ms***'s loss

On Friday, November 19, 2016, AA Wrecker Service was dispatched at 2:58 a.m. at the request of [redacted].Upon arrival the oficer on scene alerted and pointed out to our driver, [redacted], damages done to Mr. [redacted] 2016 Ford Focus by the driver, his son, whom was arrested...

for marijuana possession and who also had a loaded .380 pistol sitting on the console of the vehicle, with a round in the chamber. The vehicle had front end damage along with a right rear flat that the driver had been driving on. I personally spoke to Mr. [redacted] when he initially called and I am also who helped him the night he came in and picked his car up. While he was in our office, Mr. [redacted] spoke of his son's arrest and made note that"he's 21 and a really good kid and never gets into trouble". The driver who towed his vehicle, [redacted], was also here at the time Mr. [redacted] came in. [redacted] walked outside with Mr. [redacted], following signed paperwork and payment, and pointed out the damage and also gave him details concerning his son's arrest, which included pouring out a rather large styrofoam Jack In The Box cup full of "Lean" and the fact that the arresting officer had mentioned placing both the driver and passenger in the rear seat of the squad car and that they nearly fell out of the car when the officer opened the rear door.Mr. [redacted] called, perhaps the following day, to complain about the damages to his vehicle and I reminded him that his vehicle was in that same condition when we arrived on scene and pointed out that the scuffs on his car were with red paint and that our trucks are white and blue. He then stated that he was not accusing us of damaging the car when we loaded, but that it may have occurred when we were either unloading or moving the car on our lot. I then reminded him that his vehicle had been parked directly behind the back door of our office and underneath an awning, and that no other red vehicles were parked near or evenremotely close to his car. [redacted] walked with Mr. [redacted] right out our back door and to the car. Mr. [redacted] was angry, yet always courteous, but remained argumentative that we were to blame for damages. While we are regretful for the circumstances, AA Wrecker Service is not liable for any of the damages received to Mr. [redacted]'s 2016 Ford Focus.

Review: My car broke down on my son and I Sunday 01/11/15 at 3-4am it was pouring down rain. The car was pulled over to the side of the road on the shoulder. I returned Sunday morning around 10 to have my car towed- it was gone. When I tracked it down AA wrecker had towed it. There was no police record so I am confused why I did not get a sticker or any time to have it moved. I was first told the car was aboanden that was not true I had just left my car that morning around 3-4am I returned that same day to pick it with less then 6 hours. There ws no police or anyone in sight to help us. Then I was told the police had it towed but there was no record of that. It is not fair for the tow company to ride and pick up any car they see and keep them to resale them. When I explained my sitiuation to the owner about can I get it out she told me yes 213.87--they had just picked the car up that morning. this is not fair.Desired Settlement: I dont feel like I should have to pay to get my car back. I have insurance that cover towing and I had a mechanic that was going to tow my car to his shop to work on it. When we went back it was gone it was less then 6 hours. I missed a day of work, I have to carpool, I have to pay to get it out and plus pay to get it fixed. Money that I needed to get it fixed.

In regard to Ms. [redacted]' claim, I am providing you with copies of the original tow slip from North Richland Hills Police Department, our vehicle envelope (which lists all vehicle information, dispatch and arrival times, any visible property, damages, and tow fees), our vehicle inventory, Ms. [redacted]' driver's license, and the itemized receipt printed at the time the vehicle was paid out, which she received also. North Richland Hills Police Department contacted us on Sunday, January 11, at 8:40 a.m. to tow an adandoned vehicle from 6500 NE Loop 820 on the East Bound Access Rd. Our driver stated that the 1999 Honda Accord was parked and sitting on the line, and was a traffic hazard. We have had a contract with North Richland Hills Police Department since 1955. All of the cities that we are contracted with and tow for will simply not allow a vehicle to sit if they are deemed as a traffic hazard by police. I actually spoke to Ms. [redacted] when she called for information about picking her car up. She was irate that we had towed it, the fees, and proceeded to tell me that "we had no right to drive around towing cars for no reason". I tried explaining to her that we are contracted with North Richland Hills PD, so when they call and tell us to tow a vehicle, we have to move them. She was also extremely irritated that she had to provide proof of current insurance, along with a valid drivers license at the time of release. She was rude inside our office. I attempted several times to explain the siuation and appease her, to no avail. Customer Service is my niche, sir. I strive to ensure everyone is happy and/or satisfied upon leaving. We want repeat business, if possible, and this company has been in my family for 60 years. Please let me know should you need anything further, or if I can assist you in any way possible.

Response:

False information I was never rude to either men involved. The one rude guy left to follow up on another case. One guy stayed behind was a little nicer and was willing to explain to me why they towed my vehicle. I had already accepted the fact and had paid. My insurance we in my car which they went in got out so j never had a problem showing in that. I told him I had insurance in my own tow company was coming that day and we must have just missed them. WE Were THEre At 9 something. He told me you should have had it tow last night made copies and then he left. The other guy was nicer. I still feel my car was in no danger it died at 4 in the morning I was back by 9. No police called it in. Rather they have a contract or not they make money by picking up any cars a banned mean no one is coming back and it has been sitting there for a couple days. Not fair and they were not trying to hear my story so I stopped talking never was loud or disrepectful. I am sure they have cameras watch them. They told us be there at 9 pm we got there we waited outside while he smoked a cigarette and told us we not open yet. It was 9:09.
