This client spoke with me aprox week after their purchase about the vehicle consuming oilThey also mentioned the check engine light had come on and the mechanic they saw said it had several codes They had changed a single coilI scheduled and appointment for them to drop off the car for a free no charge to them inspection as a courtesy Upon inspection there were absolutely no codes on the car and in fact I showed them as well that all the vehicle monitors were set perfectly and there were zero codes on or pending They also mentioned that the Honda was consuming oil Unfortunately there was nothing I was able to do at our shop for that as we have no way of testing for oil consumptionI did tell them that if they did need some assistance with that issue that I would gladly offer to have them go to the mechanic shop I use and I would get them my internal wholesale pricing on any repair neededAlthough the vehicle was sold as is and they declined to purchase the extended service contract that would have covered certain repairs they did opt to not get itThis then became a As Is purchase I was willing to help save them money by extending them the option of going to the mechanic that does work for dealers only at dealer pricingThis is not a practice as we do not want to abuse the use of the shop that give us special preferred pricing on vehicle repairsUnfortunately they have decided to venture out on their own to seek repairs which I have no control of saving them moneyThey did purchase the vehicle as is and we feel that in no way are we responsible to pay for a new engine or take back any returnsThere were several options available for them at the time of their purchase which we offer that they did not pursue1) they could have had the vehicle pre inspected by any licensed mechanical shop in the areaThey were offered a day cancellation option were they could have owned the car and had it inspected and returned it within days or miles3)They could have purchased a service contractNone of the above they didWe did a free inspection after their purchase for the check engine light and it was perfectThe car was pre smogged prior to their purchase and everything was perfectUnfortunately if they don’t want to use my services which could save them money there is nothing further I can offer themAt the time of there pirchase and upon our inspection the car was running perfectlyUnfortunately if something occurred with the vehicle and I offered to assist with savings through our sources and they declined then it is up to themAny questions please call me direct at [redacted]

I spoke with [redacted] and told her if she brings her car down to us we would gladly check and repair her rear brakes and only charge her for the price of parts onlyWe would take care of all the labor chargesShe actually purchased her car from us on 1-01-which was months ago Only now have we heard of this issueEven though it has been months we are still willing to assist ***She has my phone number and said she would call me next week to schedule an appointment for her service Otherwise she loves her car

I am rejecting this response because: The vehicle was not in good working conditionIt failed inside of a week under its' first load when towingIt's true that an extended contract was offered and I declined but at the same time I also expected a vehicle in "good working condition" after it left the lot(at least beyond the first days)The repairs according to [redacted] would have been $if all injectors were replacedI estimated that it would have been $in the beginning based on my online research so Hayes will only be saving me about $and not $as they statedI am disappointed that Hayes is not doing more to help me with the repair than to just give it to me at "cost"My expectation was for them to cover at least half of the repair at their costThis is the only option I have so I am excepting it as a solution just to save as much money as I can because I have no other optionThey charged me full retail for the vehicle and I expected it to be in good working condition at that time of delivery and it was not

the folks came in and bought this truck right out of our showroom the battery was dead from being left open so much by customers we charged it up and it was fine a week or so later ms*** son called and said it was heating up although they purchased it as is we
still had them come in to take a look the radiator had split and as a courtesy of the dealership we changed it for a new one for free nothing was ever said about the battery or anything else this is a used vehicle none the less her son called me a few weeks back about some problems and left a message we played phone tag for a bit and I did talk to ms *** about a week and a half ago asking if all was ok her response was that everything is good now I get this complaint I again spoke with ms *** and told her to bring it in for us to take a look at the car she mentioned that the battery has died times I told her we will replace the battery for free when they bring it in for us to take a look at it she told me that she would have her son call me for a appointment for us to take a look at itthis was days ago and I havent heard from them as yet I told her I would do a free inspection and go from there but I cant even do this unless the car is dropped off for us to take a look at so all is on hold unfortunately we can't be responsible for everything on a used vehicle and do try our best but machines do break from time to timeWe will do our best to help out as we have already

I am rejecting this response because:
Letter from Hayes Auto Work was very interesting not quite accurate but very neat
I took the truck over to my repair men who have taken care of my cars since 1979, just to check if it was as good as having said it was, it isn’tit is going to cost approximately $to fix itI should have written report late next weekCost $to check itI will send you a copy as soon as I get it, thank you for your helpAs to the other item with him I have to really think hard on it, he shouldn’t have done what he didI didn’t know himI am ill at moment & can’t get truck to him, but will as soon as possible
P.Sit took tour days to get your letter

Well once again I can't try to help if the customer won't have us look at it Maybe they can send us a copy of what their mechanic is saying is the problem This vehicle was sold in Aug(months ago)...I can't keep putting this off indefinitely so we need to see the estimate from her mechanic or the car very soon

I am rejecting this response because: The only thing we were offered was the day return optionBut the words of "having it inspected" and what not were not said by the sellerWe were no where near offered any kind of warranty by Hayes AT ALL otherwise we would have taken it given our circumstanceI feel we were lied to and treated like dirtIt would not be hard at all for Hayes to agree that they sold us a broken vehicle and payed someone off to have it pass smog because it totally should not haveWe have a licensed mechanic that has ALL documents and I will be calling another comapany to get more info that was told to us by the seller that was a lie as wellIt would also not be hard for Hayes to pay for a new motorI think it would be cheaper on both ends and a very NICE way to do businessWe are also in the process of taking further action since we are not getting help from anyoneThis is a very sad situation, especially when we as a very low income family can not even afford to purchase a vehicle

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I am writing to advise you that my case has been resolved and Hayes Auto was very nice about it. Thank you[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: (See attachements)
In addition to receipts I have given you, please remember that the “driver’s seat” is ripped approximately 6 ½ inches, verbal estimate is $250.00 and then the battery. I had just bought one for my Mazda for $125.00 (I think). I really don’t think there is any other way of thinking, I got ripped off on my “absolute perfect” purchase, “nothing wrong”. Please advise what I do next, thank you sorry my wrist is acting up and it is difficult to write, I have been ill since purchasing truck. There is also the other matter I spoke to you about.
Thank you [redacted]

We sold the F 250 in good working order.  During the vehicle purchase the customer was offered an extended service contract which was declined. Thus being said the vehicle was sold as-is.  the some of the injectors started to leak.  it is unknown if it is just 1 or 2 out of the 8....

the customer said that he had it looked at and it would cost $3500 for the repair.  This is to change all 8 injectors.  It might be only 1 that would cost only about $300-$400.  None the less this customer wanted some assistance on the repair.  We told him that we would get the parts at our cost with no mark up as well as very cheap labor and to change all the injectors for him (although it might be only 1 or 2) , that way he won't have to worry about any others in the future, and he is getting it at our pricing rather than paying for any of this type of repair later on if it should come up.  We also have our mechanic coming on his off time to expedite this repair for our customer.  By changing all  the injectors for him we are able to save him $1500 on this repair even though all 8 are not probably needed. This is good will preventive maintenance. We do believe that this is going beyond and above to help keep a happy client and saving him $1500 on doing all 8 injectors especially when he declined a service contract and opted to purchase his vehicle as-is. Unfortunately we can not predict when a mechanical component fails on a vehicle but we do try to help out our customers.

I am rejecting this response because: The vehicle was not in good working condition. It failed inside of a week under its' first load when towing. It's true that an extended contract was offered and I declined but at the same time I also expected a vehicle in "good working condition" after it left the lot(at least beyond the first 30 days). The repairs according to [redacted] would have been $3000.00 if all 8 injectors were replaced. I estimated that it would have been $3500 in the beginning based on my online research so Hayes will only be saving me about $850.00 and not $1500.00 as they stated. I am disappointed that Hayes is not doing more to help me with the repair than to just give it to me at "cost". My expectation was for them to cover at least half of the repair at their cost. This is the only option I have so I am excepting it as a solution just to save as much money as I can because I have no other option. They charged me full retail for the vehicle and I expected it to be in good working condition at that time of delivery and it was not.
