We are always eager to meet the expectations of our customers, but unfortunately cannot act on such a vague complaint, and we are unable to find any legitimate factual basis to substantiate this complaint.Per the notes on the account Mrs H [redacted] has been well aware for years that we charge a renewal and reinstatement if the account is over dueNow we understand that Mrs H [redacted] has been a member since and many things have changed through those years, however we have noted that previous rep's have told her the reinstatement is going back to We mentioned E Merchant because Mrs H [redacted] did have a site with them and they were paying her membership at one pointNever has Smart Living Co or Specialty Merchandise Corp ever penalized our members for dealing with our sister company E MerchantIf Mrs H [redacted] would like to reinstate her account we would be more than welcome to assist, but we are not offering any specials or perks to reinstate at this timeMrs H [redacted] is welcome to contact F [redacted] at ###-###-#### monday through friday from 6:am to 2:pm PST should she have any questions

Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: I canceled this order immediately, you had not sent out the package before I called, the man I talked to said just wait until I receive the package, look it over and see what I think, I want a refund credited back to my account B [redacted]

We are sorry to hear that Mrs E*** was dissatified with the purchase she made on 05/24/and do wish her the best, however we can not offer a refundWhen a member signs up wether it be online or over the phone it is explained that memberships cannot be refunded only downgraded and or
upgraded We also show that a memberhsip kit was mailed out prior to her calling inAttached is a copy of our terms

We have reviewed the rejection as well as contacted Mr N*** to go over the complaint in detailIt was explained to Mr N*** how one would cancel their membership based on the terms he had agreed toMr N*** did provide additional info however that will be looked into furtherSince Mr N*** didn't use the membership as a courtesy Smart Living Co will honor the refund requested We again do wish Mr N*** the best of luck in his endeavors

We are going over Mr R*** complaint and see that MrR*** has denied signing up for the E Merchant site and has done a chargeback with the CompanyWe will be pulling the conversations for review and contact Mr R*** with our findingsMr R*** can contact our escalations manager Fairelynn
Villa at if he has any questions or concerns

I am rejecting this response because:I did, in fact, make numerous attempts to cancel the month-by-month membership, the earliest attempt of which was made in January, The agent I dealt with on all of these occasions, Joshua Brill, was always giving me some or other ck-and-bull reason as to why I could not cancel my membershipSeveral times I attempted calling at the end of the month requesting to cancel my membership, and each time, Joshua gave me this, that, or other reason why my membership could not be cancelledBecause of this, I feel I am entitled to be refunded every cent you ever took, and I will not be satisfied otherwiseIf necessary, I will take this matter to the Attorney General

Now we understand that Mrs H[redacted] has been a member since 2000 and many things have changed through those years, however we have noted that previous rep's have told her the reinstatement is 74.95 going back to 2007. We mentioned E Merchant because Mrs H[redacted] did have a site with them and they were paying her membership at one point. Never has Smart Living Co or Specialty Merchandise Corp ever penalized our members for dealing with our sister company E Merchant. If Mrs H[redacted] would like to reinstate her account we would be more than welcome to assist, but we are not offering any specials or perks to reinstate at this time. Mrs H[redacted] is welcome to contact F[redacted] at ###-###-#### monday through friday from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm PST should she have any questions.
