TOTAL SCAM - Live and Learn
Well after using a coupon, but still ending up paying $450 we just had another service come out to actually do the work we were told was done. The before and after photos from only a week difference between when A+ come out and this other company came to complete the work were night and day. DO NOT USE A+ and if you do, expect to be scammed and when you call to make any dispute, there is nothing to do. By signing the receipt and paying, you care agreeing that you are satisfied with the work. It would cost more to go after them legally so it is a lose/lose. You can use your money in a better way by using another company or just NOT do your vests (same result as paying to have A+ scam you). It sucks that this is how some company's do business.

We called to have them come clean our air ducts and they said they would come that Saturday as they would be in the area. They never showed up or called. The following Saturday a tech showed up and said we had the wrong date. He gave us a price that ended up being over $300 due to the amount of vents we had and they needed to make access panels in my unit since it is the first time I had it serviced and it is a newer unit. After we agreed to the work which I knew I should have said never mind to, another technician came into my back door out of no where and plugged a machine into my outlet in my laundry room, the outlet did not work and suddenly there was a burning smell. I was going crazy trying to figure it out, called my electrician right away. The one tech did look around to try and see what it was, nothing seemed to be on fire and my husband found that the breaker tripped so he turned it back on and the outlet worked. He thought it just tripped the breaker since everything seemed fine after that. I made them plug into the other side of the house to be safe but yet I still felt I should have stopped the work and didn't listen. After they were done, I paid with a credit card and they did not tell me up front that it was an additional 4% to use a credit card on top of the tax. When they left, the electrician came to check it out and found a small wire had burnt inside the outlet they plugged into and it knocked out the line along it which fried our TV, playstation pro and chrome cast. I called to tell them what happened and I wanted a refund and the manager began screaming and telling me he knows more than me and it is my wiring. My house was totally fine until he plugged a machine in and to go ahead and write a review and sue him because I can't prove anything. They are not nice people, if you run a legitimate business than a refund would not be a problem. Always go with your gut, thank god my house didn't burn down!

Review: This Complaint is not only for Customer Service Issues it is also for Deceiving Advertising Practices and for breach of Guarantee of Services. I live in New Condo, which Condo's Association requires a Certificate that dryer vents have bee cleaned every two years. A+ Air Duct advertised Dryer Vent Cleaning for $34.95 and when the technician came he ended up charging $65.80 for the job that I was supposed to pay $34.95 nothing extra. So I paid A+Air Duct to clean the Vent of my gas dryer on 10/06/2015 and after 4 months of their cleaning I called the Public Serice Company to check on my dryer ( I have a worry free contract with PSE&G) because the gas dryer was not working and PSE&G determined that the dryer vent was completely clogged and gave me a violation due to safety and advised me to clean the gas dryer vent or they will discontinue the gas supply. When I called A+Air Duct and explained the situation to someone that identifies himself as [redacted] (supervisor) he said that I will be charged again for them to show up to my condo to check the issue. They refused to come without payment. I believe their sales practices are deceiving, their services are very poor, and their license should be suspended by the state of NJ as they do not honor Guarantee of Service.Desired Settlement: I want my money ($65.80) back. I asked A+ Air Duct to come and fix the problem but they just want more money. I do not want any more business with that company.

Review: On August 1, we had A+ Air Duct Cleaning ([redacted]) for vent and dryer vent cleaning, as well as an extra vent sanitizer service. The professional told me we should leave while the service was performed and he would take off whatever vents he could and do a thorough job. Advertised is a truck-mounted cleaner, which he didn't use yet said what he had was just as good (false advertising). When we opened the vents to paint the following weekend, we found a ton of dust falling out and the vents didn't look like they were even remotely cleaned (picture can be provided). I have called 4 time, submitted a request through their web site, and sent an email. Our request has been completely ignored and they strongly advertise a 2-year warranty, yet will not honor the warranty.Desired Settlement: I would either like a refund of the $230 paid or for someone to come back to reclean and sanitize while we are allowed to watch the work in progress (we were asked to leave the house the first time around).

Review: I had this company come out to clean my duct system and do a chimney sweep. I was not there personally and my mother was watching my children at the time and let the company rep in. I guess he thought that she wouldn't know what he was doing and that they could just rip me off. The guy went into my basement for an hour and from what I can tell cut a hole in my main supply and ran the vacuum in it for and hour then left. He was supposed to clean all the ducts and registers and clean my chimney. He did not, when I got home I went on my roof and looked down my chimney they was still creosote in the chimney and even cobwebs at the top so I know he didn't even attempt to clean it. Also not one of the registers were taken off because they were painted on and none of the paint was cut or broken to indicate so. Also there were still cobwebs and dust in all of the registers that I checked. I left my mother a check and not knowing any better wrote them a check for $194, not knowing that the agreed upon price over the phone was $135. I have tried to reach them multiple times and they have not responded. This company is a complete scam and a danger to the community. They are going around and telling people that they are cleaning chimneys and they are not. THIS CAN CAUSE A HOUSE FIRE. The people who run this company are terrible and should be put in jail. I want my money back!Desired Settlement: I want my money back and an apology.

Review: I contacted A+ Air Duct cleaning from the phone number (###-###-####) on a money mailer advertisement for a dryer vent cleaning. First, the person making the appointment informed me that the advertised price differed depending on the length of the line. When the service technician arrived, he informed me that the job cost was not 34.95 as advertised but 70.00 plus tax for the length of the line, to which I agreed. The technician performed the cleaning and showed me the vent outlet on the exterior of the building. I continued to have drying issues with my dryer so I contacted the customer service for the dryer itself. When they came out, they informed me that there is no problem with the dryer and that the issue was the dryer vent. I contacted A+ dryer vent cleaning again. They sent out a technician for free to investigate the problem. The technician informed me that the previous tech cleaned the wrong whole on the exterior, and showed me a different hole on the outside of the building that clearly had a bird's nest lodged inside. When I contacted A+ again to have them fix their error, the man very rudely told me that it will cost me an additional 100$ to have the correct outlet hole cleaned. I explained that his technician cleaned the wrong outlet and did not perform the job correctly. I was told to call [redacted] instead and was hung up on. We called twice again and the company refused to acknowledge that they made an error or make any attempts to correct it.Desired Settlement: I want the company to clean out the bird's nest for free that their technician failed to clean.

Review: Flyers were sent stating "Full house air duct cleaning special, $29.90, package includes: All-Unlimited Vents, one main duct and plenum chamber, based on one furnace. Additional returns and main ducts are priced separately". We scheduled the appointment, informed them we wanted the $29.90 only. The gentleman stated that they would have someone review it when they came to the property. We informed them it was a rental property and they would need to contact us on arrival, before service began. The technician arrived, did not call us and began the service.

As soon as we were informed we went to the property. He told us there were two main ducts and that the cleaning would be $280, he also told our tenant that the heater had never been serviced. We have owned this property for 15 years, the heater has been serviced several times and there is only one main duct.

The technician called his boss "[redacted] asked to speak directly with us. He informed us that since the cleaning had begun we were responsible for the balance. We instructed him that we did not authorize the cleaning, had not signed a contract and were not paying $280. He threatened litigation at this point. We still told him to have his technician stop immediately. He then called back and stated that he would charge us $149 for all of the vent cleaning and deoderizing, that way "we could keep our tenant and be happy, and that the company was charging the bare minimum and just covering their labor charges". We still refused and asked "why is there an add for $29.90 if $149 won't cover their labor charges".

He had his technician leave but tell my tenants the heater had never been serviced, they couldn't use the heating system until this was completed because it is a fire hazard and they shouldn't be in the house. He then called us again and offered to patch the holes in the duct work for $70. He also kept insisting we were responsible for the entire bill.Desired Settlement: We would like this advertising to be stopped. There are many people who will believe what this company tells them and pay more money than initially quoted. They will also be intimidated by fictitious law suits, therefore paying prices that are unnecessary and believing claims that are not true.

please stay away from this company, its a big scam. technicians are not qualified/trained to do the job. they are doing false advertisement in monthly mailers, clipper mailings etc. don't let them into your home. without opening a single vent, they said the airduct cleaning is complete, what a ripoff, bunch of scammers.

These people are scammers and please do not use them. They advertised dryer vent cleaning for $34.95 in the local Money Mailer and charged me $160 because the vent ran through my attic and not directly to an outside wall. On top of that, the serviceman put his foot through my attic floor board and knocked out the recessed lighting in my bathroom and didn't tell me and left. Had the dryer vent not been there then his foot would have went through my ceiling and I then would have noticed it immediately. I called them 20 minutes later and they sent someone to my house 2 days later to take pictures. I have made several attempts to resolve the situation with the company but to no avail. They said they were going to send someone to my house on 12/22/15 but no one came and when I called them, they said they had no record of an appointment scheduled. I am now pursuing legal action. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND PEOPLE!

This company doesn't seem to care about keeping their customers. They invest in flyers to hook you in but give such poor service you'd never come back. They were late, which happens, but didn't call, they jacked up the price of the air duct cleaning from $29.90, as advertised, to $190.00, which I refused. Purchasing the air duct cleaning would have provided a free service, which was to be the dryer vent, but since I refused the air duct cleaning, I planned to pay for the dryer vent cleaning. According to the flyer, it would cost $34.90 So why did they charge $60? I will NEVER use this service again.

Review: We are complaining and reporting regarding false advertising and perhaps sales gimmick. We used "A+ Air Duct Cleaning" services yesterday (12/16/2015) to clean our dryer vent. When they came, the technician gave us a copy of their NJ State license, as we had requested, and we noted that the license No.13VH08445600 is issued to a business name: "A PLUS HORIZON SERVICES LLC". The technician quoted a price of $55 for dryer vent cleaning when the coupon they advertised in the 2015 December Clipper Magazine issue clearly stated $34.95. We have a typical regular sized line, no different than other townhomes. Upon finding a bird's nest, the technician quoted an additional price of $35, bringing the total of $90. Consumers need to be aware of a possible sales gimmick here.Desired Settlement: If the business would like to offer a refund and match their coupon price, they should send us a check. Although we have attorneys, we do not plan to take any legal action. Our complaint is mainly to notify the Consumers in New Jersey and to put the business on alert regarding false advertising.

Review: Called for Air Duct cleaning for my dryer. When first technician came out, he was clearly not properly trained. He used a tool to clean the duct but it broke inside the dryer. He tried to remove but was not able to. He called his boss and another technician was schedule to come out to resolve issue. Second tech. came out and wanted to charge more. I refused and wanted to just get my dryer working again. Tech was able to remove the broken piece but dryer was making noised (grinding) whenever it would start. I tried reached out since and have not gotten any call backs or been able to speak with anyone regarding this issue. Horrible customer service and unqualified technicians. Avoid!!Desired Settlement: Fix my dryer and the grinding noise its making. If unable to, or permanent damage, I'm seeing comparable cost of dryer so I can buy a new one.

Review: They advertised Full house air duct cleaning special, One Time Deal, for $29.90 include all-unlimited vents, one main duct, based on 1 furnace and Dryer vent cleaning for $34.95. I called and schedule appointment for those services. The technician arrived on 11/7/15 and he told me that everything will cost $170. After I talked to him about the flyer, he went outside to contact his boss. When he came back he insisted on the same price. Then I was willing to do Dryer vent cleaning only for $34.95. He said he needs to call his boss again. And he was gone. Few minutes later someone called me and said that $170 is the price and if I want the technician can come back and clean the Dryer vent for $40 (advertisement was for $34.95).

These people are scam and should not be in the business at all. Their license should be suspended. On their advertisement they do not provide website address nor their license number.Desired Settlement: They should not be able to advertise false information and scam customers.

Broke the damper to one of my supply lines and refused to fix it. Horrible company. Avoid them completely.

They advertised $29.99 for whole house air duct cleaning. However, they wanted $175 for the job! When I asked the guy to leave, he called his manager. I had a difficult time getting rid of him. It's a total scam. Luckily, I didn't have them do the job.
