Review: I hired this company to remove a tree stump and grind roots over five weeks ago. Most of the grinding was completed, however, he indicated he would return to finish grinding the rest of the roots he could not see due to excessive bark debris as per the advertised guarantee. When I cleared the debris he came back to access what still needs to be done and we agreed. I have made three telephone calls to him to complete the job. On May 30th he promised to return the next week, but failed to do so. I called again on June 10th and left a message since he did not answer the phone this time and I have still received no response.

I indicated the work needs to be completed by June 12th as I have out-of-town guests arriving and would like to get my yard presentable. I indicated several times I cannot fill in the holes and re-seed until he finished. The root trenches and stump hole are also a hazard to children who occaisionally run through my yard.

His ad in the yellow pages indicated guaranteed and prompt service and I do not feel he has fulfilled this promise.Desired Settlement: The initial job cost $200 and I would like to have half that amount refunded because it will cost me $100 minimum to hire someone else to complete the job since contractors require a minimum charge to even come out.

Job completed and paid for

Additional work discussed but customer didn’t listen to me when I told her when I have additional work in area the additional work is for $150 not cost effective for me to do otherwise

Will not do additional work for her because of cost to do without prior work nearby with same equipment

Consumer's Final Response /* (3000, 12, 2013/07/19) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

His response is not what is indicated on my receipt, as the job was never completed in full. He indicated the work was guaranteed in his initial quote, as well as in his ad in the yellow pages. When he collected the $200.00 payment, he indicated he would be back to finish the work once I cleared all the debris so he could see what still needed to be done. When I called him several times to see when he was going to finish, he never indicated he would only be back if he were ever in the area. Again, when I called him on May 30th, he promised to be out the following week to finish the job "because he was backed up due to the rain."

I never hired him for any additional work because he never completed the job I paid him $200.00 for.

I have hired numerous contractors in the 6 years I have been in WA: fence installers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, general handymen. concrete patio installers, painters and had my kitchen updated and this is the first unethical contractor I have had the misfortune to come accross. After contacting him numerous times to no avail, I have contacted the Revdex.com as my first

recourse in an attempt to remedy the situation. If this company does not choose to honor their guarantee for a job completed, I will be forced to pursue additional avenues.

Business' Final Response /* (4000, 14, 2013/08/22) */

I am not going to refund any money on initial project as it was completed as requested. The consumer is asking for money back on an additional project that was requested but never started, nor contracted for. I think this was a miscommunication about an additional service we casually talked about doing in the future.
