Revdex.com spoke to Ron at business and a good faith offer to assist with back-filling the driveway was presentedRevdex.com spoke to consumer and the consumer agreed to the offerThe matter is considered resolved

I will address the contractors response in the order that he presented itI rode my wheelchair back and forth in the drivewayThe bumps referred to are not as in speed bumps, up and down swells is more like it, except for the one by the road, which is definitely a bumpI have no argument in the amount of material used, however, the thickness varies from – 3” (which caused the bump by the road)He came back only after he had sent his senior person to check out my complaintThis person admitted to me that this was a poor jobIsn't that what warranty work is, no cost to the customers? They came back to correct the edge of the driveway which was and still is wavey in many spotsI will wait until winter to see if the puddles become a problemAs to the crushed stone, we were not charged for the crushed stone only because it saved him from hauling it awayI do think the driveway will last a long time, however at years of age I would not expect it to be a problem in my remaining lifetimeMechanically, it is just okayHowever esthetically, it is not a very good jobThe senior man from his company said he could backfill the edges of the driveway, however, he never gave me an estimate which I requestedI certainly hope his warranty covers more than weeds coming through the driveway, which is ridiculous and I assume that means he won't be backI stand by my original complaint and am in the process of trying to get some other paving contractors to look at the driveway to give me their opinionI will not mention the name of the contractor who did the workHe is a hard worker, but I am reasonably sure that the job was too big for himThank you for your consideration of my complaint [redacted] ***

As to the crushed stone, we were not charged for the crushed stone only because it saved him from hauling it away. I do think the driveway will last a long time, however at 80 years of age I would not expect it to be a problem in my remaining lifetime. Mechanically, it is just okay. However esthetically, it is not a very good job. The senior man from his company said he could backfill the edges of the driveway, however, he never gave me an estimate which I requested. I certainly hope his warranty covers more than weeds coming through the driveway, which is ridiculous and I assume that means he won't be back. Revdex.com spoke to Ron at the business and the following was relayed: Addressing the consumers points 1. The bumps referenced are not bumps, it is the seam where the asphalt was brought together and adding more asphalt would only create more seams. 2. The contract states 2- 2 1/2", this was done according...

to contract. 3. We went back and did correct 200' of driveway by extending all of it to over 10' wide. 4. We went back and spent 6 hours and provided asphalt for warranty work at no cost to the customer. 5. Any driveway will have water, a puddle is water that sits from 12-14 hours, there are no low spots on the driveway and no expectation that this will be a problem. The consumer mentions the crushed stone which was used to fill in the low spot and which they were not charged for. Regarding working at night, we worked with work lights. There is nothing wrong with the driveway and the driveway will hold up for a long time. We do not use a paver, we do the driveways by hand and because of this there is a slight raise where the asphalt is blended but the seams will never break. A plow will not catch on the seam, it is a minimal raise. We do recommend that the customer backfill the side of the driveway with topsoil. I remain willing to go back for any issue that we can remedy, such as a situation where a weed comes through, etc.
