Re:Affordable Parts Appliances:

Dear Sir(s):

I am writing today to inform you that I paid [redacted], from Affordable Parts Appliances, also known as A Authorized Appliance Repair, [redacted], cash $ 440.00 USD, for a refrigerator repair he did not do. [redacted], claimed it was a bad circuit board. I did not see him use any equipment to diagnose this, he just said due to the ice build up in the refrigerator on the back wall, it was a bad circuit board. He called around for the part. One place he called did not have it, so he called some place in Blue Ashe, Ohio. This is what I overheard him saying while on the phone. I did not have all the money so I had to go to the bank while he went to go get the part. On my way to the bank, I called General Electric(1-[redacted]) and gave them my model no and they said the part was only $ 186.00. I called Tony Huckaby , from Affordable Parts Appliances telling him what GE said and he stated that he,” didn’t know why they said that was that price for the circuit board. “ He said that, “they must have the wrong part.” I told him no, that I had given GE the model no to the refrigerator. I then asked him to give me the receipt showing proof of purchase of the circuit board and he said that he would. If not, I didn’t want his business. So after he supposedly fixed the circuit , he looked inside the refrigerator and that was it. I did not observe him put the part on, though. I had my back to him and I trusted that he did. I remained in the kitchen finishing up dishes. After about five minutes he finished. He didn’t even wait around to see if the refrigerator was getting cool. He wrote me a receipt and while he was, I asked him again for the sales receipt for the circuit board he claimed he had replaced, as he agreed he would do. He said, “We don’t do that. If you have a problem with the part, we guarantee lifetime replacement for the part, that’s how we handle that.” I told him that was different and that I had not ever heard of such a thing in my life . Lifetime? I told him to write it on the service receipt. Anyhow, he refused to give me the sales receipt to prove the costs of the circuit board, which he quoted to be $325.00 USD . He quoted me another 140.00 for labor costs. Originally, he quoted me $475, $325.00 USD for the circuit and $175.00 USD for labor, but he said he was giving me a 30.00 Christmas discount. I called him immediately after he left at 5:15 pm to tell him that the digital temp control to the refrigerator was not on at all and he said for me to wait for 24 hours and then call him back. What service man does that? In 24 hours my food would be ruined. Any reputable company would have come back to the job, weighing the risks. I told him that if the part was any good the digital temp control should be on. He told me again to wait 24 hours and then give him a call back. I told him that I never heard of anyone providing a repair service on a refrigerator and not waiting around to see if it was working properly and or adjusting temp controls. I have over 500.00 worth of groceries. I then called him back to tell him to just give me a refund for his services because they were not properly done and I was too inconvenienced with company traveling to my home for the holiday the following day. He didn’t complete any of his his work and showed no real concern that the refrigerator was not keeping cool and the digital temp control was not lit and or working so that I could adjust temp of the refrigerator. He drove a white van with no work logo on the outside and he reeked like alcohol. He is not honest or reputable, neither completes work of quality . I want all my money back plus any costs to replace the circuit board he took off. Phone numbers for his company is [redacted] . My appointment was at 2:00, but he showed up like 3:30 pm and did not have the part or any parts on him, which I was not aware of at the time. Then he left for about an hour showing up again around 4:30 pm, reeking like alcohol. I want $ 440.00 back plus the real costs of the circuit board he removed. I have an appointment on Monday, December 19, 2016, with General Electric. I really don’t like how he took advantage and inconvenienced me at the same time. It is Christmas and on top of that, my son’s father passed on November 13, 2016. I should not have to be going through this. I do not want his service again. He will not be permitted to come back to my home. He is fraudulent and deceptive. I have a young child and I feel very violated by him. I will be contacting the Forest Park police to file a complaint. I do not think that he even put a new circuit board on. He made the problem worse. Before he came, it was cooling at the bottom. Now it is not. I had to throw out food today.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Had a service repairman from A Authorized Appliance Repair come to repair ice maker in June. He replaced ice maker for $346.25. In less than 3 weeks it wasn't working again. He then came back and charged $75 for a new valve. Again, after a few weeks wasn't working; came back and "fixed" eye sensor. After another few weeks wasn't working. He was suppose to come back, never showed and now not answering my phone calls. He refused to give me a refund as well. Each time I called it always took him days to come.
