I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Mr*** response has me a little confusedThis is the first correspondence I have received from him regarding this issueI attempted well over a dozen times to speak to him, both in person and over the phone, but was told by *** *** that he was not available
I do not deny that Mr*** had a court appointed guardian, I explained that in the original complaintI was working as a truck driver and was gone too much to be in charge of his affairs, so I let them be his legal guardianHowever, I do not believe this means that they can spend money out of a life insurance policy for which I was paying the premiums, not the stateSo why should I send anything to the state?
When Mr***'s daughter died, Mr*** was nothing but professional, he showed genuine care and compassion, and I will never forget itHowever, I do not recall him telling me that he was giving me a discountHe allowed me to make payments that would have taken over years to pay off if the terms we agreed upon were followedI appreciated this so much, that I scrimped, saved and sold possessions to pay the bill off in about a year
I am not trying to bash Mr*** here, and this is not what frustrated me enough to make this complaint. Mr*** was not privy to the conversations that *** *** and I had, so he does not know all the beating around the bush that was done which is what drove me to file this complaintIf he says he gave me a discount, then I believe him, so that part of the complaint can be cleared. I do expect to be refunded the cost of the granite marker I did not order. And lets not forget that all this could have been avoided if *** did not deliberately steer us into signing over the entire policy, and to refund the difference of the amount to cover a basic funeral. I do not harbor any ill will toward Mr***, I wish that he would pick up the phone and talk to me, so he can understand just what his employee has been doing to cover up this complaint*** *** would not let me speak to him at all to try and resolve this, and I have to question if it is even him responding to the complaint. I say this because when I first met Mr***, he did not strike me as the type of person who would say he talked to me when he didn't
Mr*** can reach me on my home or cell phone at any timeIf I speak to him and he does say that he gave me a discount, then again we can clear that part of the complaintBut I do still expect the refund for the marker

In reference to complaint by [redacted], several statements in his letter are incorrect,...

first the deceased [redacted] had a court appointed guardian to handle his affairs, we complied with her wishes in accordance with the law. We were made owners of his life insurance and beneficiaries so he could be qualified for medcaid under Indiana law, [redacted] was listed as a contingent beneficiary and was given a check for the difference of $387.41. I personally spoke with Mr. [redacted] more than once, also Mr. [redacted] was not legally Mr. [redacted] son-in-law, he was not married to Mr. [redacted]'s deceased daughter. I did his wife/ long time companion's funeral at a discounted rate, what I would call the Medicaid rate due to his lack of funds and I didn't have too. Mr. [redacted] is upset that I wouldn't give him the same deal for Mr. [redacted], which I have no reason to do in this case. In fact Mr. [redacted] by Indiana Law should send his refund check back to the stae of Indiana to help cover Mr. [redacted]'s Medicaid cost.
I helped Mr. [redacted] in the case of his companion Mary [redacted]'s death by working at a discounted rate and like most times when you help people it comes back to bite you.
