In response to complaint filed by ***First he brought his vehicle to Grove Street Auto and signed a repair order for that companyWe do have a sister company in this building named Economy Auto Painting which does not actually do
insurance work
American Access sent us an assignment for *** Ford Fusion on 8-15-At this point we needed to take pictures and write a estimate an upload it to American Access for approval before vehicle could be repaired
American Access notified us on 8-26-that our estimate had been approved and to proceed to start repairing vehicle
At this time we ordered all necessary partsParts began to arrive at our facility on 8-29-At this time we proceeded with repairsThe hours calculated on the estimate to repair *** vehicle was hoursIf you take hours and divide it by which is how the insurance company calculates days of repair*** vehicle would take days to repairSince we started on vehicle on 8-29-and *** picked up his vehicle on 9-8-Since we are only Monday through Friday his vehicle took us days to repair instead of days to repair
We are not paid by the insurance company to detail a customers vehicle after repairs are completeWe do blow dust out of vehicle and wipe down dash and door panels and wash vehicleAs far as if he has additional repairs to an interior panel that he believes is accident related he needs to contact us or the insurance company to see if they will cover the costs
As far as *** air conditioning we drove his vehicle back from the alignment shop 9-7-it was a very hot dayWe realized his AC didnot blow coldOut of a courtesy we were going to charge his air conditioner for himUnfortunately that is not the problem with his vehicleUpon further diagnosis we believe the vehicle needs a Evaporator Discharge air temperature sensorThis sensoe is located in the middle of his dashboardHis vehicle was side swiped on the right sideWe replaced his two right doorsThere was no damage to his AC condenser or anything on the front of his vehicle
We proceeded to check on the internet about this Evaporator Discharge air temperature sensor and found numerous Ford Fusion owners that have had the same problem
We then contacted the dealer to see if this would possibly be covered under warranty or if there was a recall on this sensorThey told us they had heard of it numerous times but it was not covered under warranty or a recall
At this point we told *** we could order the sensor which that is not a big deal the sensor costs $But to install this sensor the whole dashboard has to be pulled out of his vehicle to get to the sensorWe let him know at that time if we did that for him and the insurance company didn't cover it he would be responsible for the bill
Unfortunately it was a bad call on our part to actually try to charge his air as a courtesy since we realized it was blowing warm airI would think that maybe his air was not working before the accident but that is really between him and American Access
As far as I'm concerned the repairs to his vehicle were completed in a timely manner and his AC would have nothing to do with this accidentAnd why he would think he should be reinbursed anything is beyond meHe was the claimant in this accident and American Access paid to repair the right side of his vehicleIf *** has any additional complaints about his vehicle he needs to contact American Access
