A & B Home Improvements Reviews (2)

Review: Contractor is owner/operator of business who signed a contract to remodel two bathrooms in our 4 bedroom home. The project took double the time it should have and during this time, contractor allowed his wet saw to leak onto our recently resurfaced driveway, which cost nearly $8,000 to refinish 7 months ago. Contractor failed to clean up the debris in a timely fashion, leaving the accumulated concrete and grout mixture solidify for more than two months from start to finish of bathroom project! After numerous requests to clean the debris, contractor finally used a power washer and vinegar to clean the stain, however, the damage was too far gone to remove the staining with simple cleaning. The company we originally hired to do the resurfacing came out and stated it would need to be resealed ,however, it was not yet cured enough to do so. Contractor came by next day and stated he "knew a guy" who was going to seal the driveway that afternoon, that the company I hired to resurface the driveway initially didn't know what they were talking about (they had been in business for 36 years), and it could be cured right away. I asked contractor who "this guy" was that he was sending out to my house to seal my driveway, explaining that the foreman of the company who did my driveway job stated that the wearing of my driveway would be compromised if it were sealed before if had cured completely. Contractor adamantly refused to tell me who "this guy" was he was sending out to seal my driveway. I was frightened that my former contractor, [redacted], would further compromise the integrity of my driveway by trying to "fix" his mistakes by spraying a quick patch of sealant over the faded and worn spot where the grout and concrete had stained and run down the driveway from my garage entrance where he had set up his wet saw. To this day I can cry each time I enter my driveway.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted], owner of A & B Home Improvements, to pay me what it will cost to reseal my entire driveway when it is fully cured - fully cured as determined by [redacted] in [redacted], PA, the company that originally did the work on the driveway and who I trust to fix the damage done by [redacted] during his time on my property.

I am writing b/c while I accept that the issue of compensating me for damaging my driveway has been taken care of, I want the Revdex.com and those who utilize it as a resource to note that [redacted] played absolutely no part in arriving at such a resolution. In fact, he attempted to thwart me in contacting them when I asked for his insurance information stating, "I'm not having my premium go up b/c of this!" if it wasn't for the Pennsylavania state licensing dept listing his contractor insurance information I may never have Rec'd compensation for his ruining 1/4 of my newly macadamed driveway. Luckily, when the insurance adjuster came out and assessed the damage and the additional fading the vinegar and leaf blower had done, [redacted] was instructed to not return to the property again.

I sincerely hope that individuals seeking home improvement at a reasonable cost do through research and that the investment of my time, energy, money and frustration has not gone wasted iny filing of this grievance against A&B Home Improvements. Quality And character matter.
