This company has been my mother-in-law's landscaping service for a number of years. She is an elderly woman, who lives alone and has been unable to keep up the yard since my father-in-law passed away. In fact my father-in-law hired the company before he passed away in 1998, and my mother-in-law has turned a blind eye to the bad business practices because her beloved husband had hired them. For a while, we have felt that the company was grossly overcharging her for the less than quality work that has been performed. After years of struggling to take care of her own finances, I have taken over all of her finances. The reason that I am filing this complaint stems from two bills that she received this fall. The one bill amounted to $175 for a fall cleanup job. The other amounted to $125 for 5 times that the lawn was supposedly cut during the month of October 2013. My family and I are over to my mother-in-law's home at least once a week, and the lawn was NOT taken care of during this time to that amount. As a result, when sending in the check, I only wrote a check for half the amount that he was asking and included a note explaining my reasoning. I soon received an angry phone call from the "twin brother of the owner" who became irate as I explained the situation. The phone call solved nothing, and the man quickly hung up on me. This business has taken advantage of my mother-in-law for far too long. We will no longer be doing business with the company, but we felt that something needed to be done to protect others from falling into the same situation.
