A Bail Bonds by Resto & Company Inc. Reviews (2)

On April 30, 2014 I was contacted by the customer to provide bail bond services on behalf of the customer's relative (the defendant). The defendant was with capital police and in order to avoid the customer 's relative being incarcerated, I was contacted for bail bond services. The customer , as...

indicated in the customer's complaint "was the one paying for the service". The service we provided was that in exchange for us paying the full amount of the cash bond up front, the customer was charged a non-refunded amount. Our minimum rate our minimum cash bond charge is $200. This charge is not refundable nor contingent upon the results of the pending four cases. As a result of our company posting the full amount of the cash bail, the defendant was released from custody .
The reason the customer's relative was being detained was for a warrant for failure to appear in court for the previously mentioned four cases; of which we provided bail bond services on November 27, 2013. There was a hearing on April 29,2014 with the judge and our company to determine why these bails should not be forfeited , since the defendant did not show up in court. [redacted] as spelled in the customer's complaint), the agent, successfully pleaded with the judge to extend the hearing because the defendant had recently given birth and had some issues during delivery.
Because the agent had provided the bail bond service that the customer had purchased on April 30,2014 we will not be refunding the any of the $200 paid for the bail bond services we successfully provided to the customer.

Review: [redacted] never informed me that the bail money that I posted would never be returned to me even though the person whom I posted the bail for showed up for court and the judge dismissed the bail. Further, it was not even made clear to me that I was talking to a bail company. I was under the impression that I was speaking to someone who worked at the courthouse. I was never informed by [redacted] that none of my money would be returned to me if the judge dismissed the bail. The judge dismissed the bail yesterday May 29th, and I phoned [redacted] today, May 30th. [redacted] said that she informed the person I was posting bail for that no money would be returned. However, I was not at the courthouse when she talked to the person I posted bail for. I was connected by phone with this [redacted] by someone who worked at the courthouse. I was the one paying for the service, and I therefore I was the one who should have been informed. I gave [redacted] a credit card number. The person I posted the bail for was not in a position to speak with me directly about this if indeed they were even told that this money would not be returned if the judge dismissed bail.Desired Settlement: I am find paying a small service charge, but I think that the majority of my money should be return
