My experience was terrible! my furnace was not firing properly I diagnosed a thermostat problem I purchase the most simple from [redacted] .It still wouldn't fire upThe papas technician after arriving hours late convinced me to purchase his overpriced thermostat .This still didn't work ,then he said oh I've connected the (2) wires wrongThen I caught him trying to hide that he was cleaning the sensor the furnace immediately fired upHe then began condemning my vent system and told me if it wasn't changed for $ [redacted] he would shut me downThis was in the middle of the worst snow and below zero temperatures we have had in Vancouver for years and I had my daughter and a month old baby in this houseI refused his demand with the alternative of reporting me to the gas safety board which he didNow I have to deal with that hassle although there really is nothing wrong with the vent system I ended up with a bill for $ [redacted] for service and a stat I didn't needI was cheatedThis com

On December 29th our radiant heat stopped working and we did not have any hot waterWe called Papa Plumbing to come and resolve our problem to which they came on January to take a look at our problem I had already done some research on the internet as to what the issue might be so when they came I asked them to check the thermostat and the zone valves They did neither and said that in order to fix the heat all they had to do was flush the hot water tankI paid them and a few hours later it was obvious that this did nothing I called Papa Plumbing and spoke to Kal and told him that this did not resolve the issue - they came back and said a valve needed to be replaced and the system needed to be flushed againI paid them and a few hours later it was obvious that the heat was still not workingI called them back and told them that my heat was still not workingThey sent their supervisor who claims to have years experience who spent most of his time complaining about how sick he his than actually workingWithout doing any diagnostics or checks he stated it had to be the pump despite my requests for him to check the zone valves and the thermostatHe left and came back a couple of days later and replaced the pump and again flushed the hot water tankI paid him and a few hours later it was obvious that the heat was not working I called Papa Plumbing again and spoke to Kal who at this point refused to come back and do any more work at my houseI was taken aback by this as I paid to get my heat fixed and they were refusing to come and do thisI repeatedly asked Kal why not and he stated because they had already been to our house numerous timesTo which I stated but I paid you to fix my heat and it still isn't working so what did I pay for? How do I know what you guys fixed/replaced were actually broken and needed replacing? Kal said I am a plumber and have been doing this for over years and that you are not a plumber and you don't know what you are talking aboutI agreed I am not a plumber and asked him what did I pay for since nothing they did fixed my problemI don't know why he was being so rude and disrespectful? so I requested he come and look at our problem and he said he would come with the supervisor the following Monday They never showed up and my heat was still not working and over two weeks had passed by this pointAfter repeated calls and conversations with Kal, they never came back and he spoke to me like I was not worth the timeVery aggressive and rude, constantly talking over me and saying "you are not a plumber" not sure why we had to repeatedly establish the fact that I am not a plumber to which point I stated "this is why I called Papa Plumbing to fix my heat problems but it is obvious that Papa Plumbing does not really know what they are doing other than taking advantage of unsuspecting people by charging them inflated prices and in my case, fixing things that potentially did not need fixingKal asked me how I know it didn't need replacing to which I replied because my heat still did not workKal said you are not a plumber, my guys would not replace something if it did not need replacingThis comment makes no sense since not one of his plumbers ran any type of diagnostic other than touch a pipe or two I ended up calling a different plumber who came and after physically doing some checks realized that it was in fact the thermostat that needed to be replacedThe heat is now workingThis took less than one hour I called Kal to tell him that I got the heat fixed and that it was the thermostat and he said "what do you want me to do about it?" and "what do you want now?" as if I did something wrongThis is by far the worst customer service and I do not know how Revdex.com can give them an A+ rating...RIDICULOUS Regardless, I requested a refund for whatever they did because of the unprofessional behaviour, extremely poor customer service, living in cold for that period of time, etc Kal initially stated I will give you $50, I requested he give me $which is half of what I had paid himHe laughed at me and hung upI called him back and he said he will think about it and get back to meHe never called me back I called Kal a few days later and suggested $was more than enough and fairI stated I have been in the cold dealing with this for over three weeks and I am the one chasing you to get some resolution I have called Kal a couple of times since than to get some resolution and he refuses to refund me and has never called me back Part of the reason we called on Papa Plumbing was because last year we had an issue with our furnace and Papa came and replaced the entire furnace for a pretty penny ( [redacted] )After the furnace was replaced my problems still existed and Papa plumbing said that it was a zone valve that needed to be replaced Did the furnace need replacing? Beware of Papa!!!

The service fee was $95.00, which I paid via credit cardWater continued to come into the basement On [redacted] the "drainage specialist" checked the perimeter of the house as well as the two affected rooms He gave me a quote for $20,for storm drain repairs involving digging around the perimeter of the house - feet, replacing pipes and patching the foundation, etcHe required a deposit of $5,which I gave via credit card I felt pressured and panicked so I signed the contract I felt panicked because I am a single senior citizen and have a vacation rental in the b

My shutoff for the water coming in to the house had burst, causing a flood in my basement and Papa Plumbing was called Upon Papa Plumbing turning the water back on, a second pipe burst at the rear of the house They cut in to the fall and discovered where the rear leak was They never did find the leak at the front of the house The lead plumber told me that my plumbing looked its age (my house is years old) and, despite knowing that I was in the midst of having to pay for the flood restoration in my house, fervently told me that I strongly needed to think about replacing all of the water piping in my house He quoted me $ (after taxes) and didn't seem to "bat an eye" quoting this amount inferring that this was "the going rate" On an even stranger note, he also asked for a credit card so he could make an imprint of it Even though he asked me to sign to authorize the work, he made no guarantee as to when he could start (it was about days before Christmas) and that th

We called to have our plugged drain fixed They sent out someone called *** to clear the drain He put a snake down the drain but it did not clear the drain He then used a shop vac to suck up as much water as he could then he poured two ml bottles of something called *** and a bottle of *** down the drain Both of these products were splashed all over our stainless steel double sink When he was leaving he dropped the shop vac and there are stains on both sides of our hallway all the way to the roof and will have to be painted He left without the drain being opened and said to call if it wasn't cleared in the morning He then asked for a cheque for $*** The next day the clog was not cleared and since the company left such a mess we had to call someone else in who had cleared the clog within an hour We called Papa Plumbing and discussed what had happened and they said to put a stop payment on the cheque When we told them about the stained si

The worst customer serviceI called last week and booked an appointment for furnace serviceI mentioned that I have to leave at noon so I want the service to be done before noonI was told that my service will be between 9-The day of service I waited till 10:and then I called to see what time I will get the serviceThey called me back that they will be at my place in half an hourWaited another hour no body showed upCalled again they said he will be there isminutes which will be 11:I asked if the service can be done in minutes?? And they said yesWaitedNo body showed up and I called to cancelThe person was raising his voice at me that" if you want to leave at noon why did you book a service appoitmentYou have to give us hour window time" I said that when I called to book I mentioned that I have to leave at noonYou give me hour window and want me to wait for hours??????? Does not make sense at allHe was very rude did not let me talk and kept raising his voice and then hung upTHE WORST EXPERIENCEHe has no right to yiell at a new customer

I found them to be evasive and non factual in what work was needed to be doneI felt that they were taking advantage of the situation and once they realized I knew something was amiss they became evasive

For the diagnosis of our older existing gas boiler, we had phoned pretty much all of the heating companies in the North Van yellow pagesFrom this we got three free on-site estimates (chose the companies we felt the best about from their phone courtesy and willingness to answer questions)After the free estimates, it was clear that there can be a wide variation of approaches to diagnosing an existing boiler and whether or not to recommend replacementOne other company charged us $for a thermocouple replacement but this turned out not to be the problem, and our boiler was about years old and ended up being due for full replace.) As soon as Papa Plumbing/Heating was on site, we could see that despite the truck not being fancy, the technician / gas fitter was experienced his whole life in this line of work, and he knew important details about boilers, ones that other companies had not mentionedThe Papa technician knew how to communicate these factors to us as customers in a way we could understandTheir quote was well-within our price rangeYet the most significant factor in our choosing to go ahead with Papa Plumbing, was the time that their technician Wayne had made with us during the free estimate to thoroughly answer our questions(One company's estimate had been lower but we would not have understood or felt confident with the job.) We went ahead with PapaThey had time to book the replacement of our gas boiler very promptlyOn the day of the job, despite us being in North Van and the technician was coming from Langley, the window of arrival time was respectedThe company made an extra call to us to let us know when he was on his wayThe full removal of the old boiler, and the full install of the brand new one, was completed within that same day! Including explaining to us important things to watch for and about how to best care for itWe whole-heartedly recommend Papa Plumbing and Heating to anyone needing their gas boiler serviced or replacedWe'll happily ask Papa and Wayne to come back and service our new boiler every year or twoHis expertise, plus his time and attention taken with us to answer our questions, made a big difference in us feeling confident to go ahead with Papa Plumbing & Heating as our chosen company, and our new boiler done last Spring has already been saving us money on our *** billThank you very much for service and customer service well done !

My heat water tank temperature sensor leakingI call themA staff cametook a lot of photos, and then go out and phone for a long time, come back and say you need to change the heat water tank needs $***, I said just repair the sensor, he said, no partsSo, nothing to doI had to pay $**

My boiler was down since mid FebruaryOn February 21st, I called Papa Plumbing to come fix itThe guy Wayne came the next day and replaced a partI thought it was fixed, so I paid $340+ but it was not working properlyThat night is was very cold as it snowed very hardI called the following morning, they came back to fix the broiler and I then paid again over $but still it was not workingI paid over $but the heat wasn't workingOver the period of months, I called so many timesOf the times I called, they came back times but still couldn't do anything about itWell after months since they first visited, on April 30th they came back again attempting to fix it but Wayne actually broke a different part(wire)Wayne even said he broke it himselfRight after that we had no hot waterAll my tenants are complaining there is no hot water to showerOn May 1st, I called to talk to the supervisor Kal but he demanded that I pay $for the part when even one of their

Papa Plumbing did not install flush valves in my toilet tanks as per agreement, only the fill valvesWhen advised of this, they immediately sent another plumber to address the issue
New flush valves were installed however the overflow pipe appeared too highUpon testing, the water streamed out through the hole in the tank where the outer flush lever enters the tank In other words, the overflow pipe was, indeed too tall to prevent flooding in the case of a fill valve failure
On a secondary note, both toilets often (but not always) require a second or third flush to clear the bowl since the work was done
Also, one item on the invoice was unnecessary and while the company did refund the amount charged to my credit card, they did not include the GST despite my mentioning it They were advised days later (Sept 25) and said they would take care of itSo far, the refund to my credit card has not occurred
