I searched for a drug rehabilitation center for my daughter and came across A Better Tomorrow where they advertised a beautiful condominuim type treatment center in Murietta, CA. I called the number and spoke with [redacted] at [redacted]) to discuss details of treatment. I was told by [redacted] that the cost was $8800.00 for 28 days of treatment where my daughter would see Psychiatrists and therapists and that they were a dual diagnoses center. I was told that I could pay half, $4400.00 to get her started and then the remainder before treatment was completed. I made a credit card payment on 3/11/2012 in the amount of $2800.00 and sent a check in the amount of $1600.00 with my daughter to be collected by A Better Tomorrow upon arrival. When my daughter arrived at the facility she was allowed to call to let me know that she made it safely and informed me that she was not in the place we saw on the website and that it was in a very bad neighborhood and very unclean. I immediately called [redacted] and was informed that to have her sent to Murrietta it would cost an additional $2800.00. While I was trying to get her transferred, she was sent to detox without me being informed which also cost an additional $2800.00. Never did she see a doctor and was placed on medications by a Dr. [redacted] like Phenobarbital, Suboxone, Trazadone, and Clonidine. When they found out I was on my way to California to get her out of there, they called and said they were discharging her in 1 hour with no money, phone, food, or transportation and I was 1800 miles away. These people are a scam and also operate under different names: Lighthouse at Anaheim, ABTTC, Anaheim Drug Rehab, A Better Tomorrow Treatment Center. They make you believe that your loved one is going to a place offering help while being comfortable and send you to a dirty, unlicensed, unsafe location in the middle of what we would call "[redacted]", where people are on the corner dealing drugs where she was verbally abused and afraid to bathe.
