tocollections.A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture utilizes an outside, however local, medical A/R billingservice, known as The Billing Service, owed by Glare L*** since 2006, to provide all medicalbillings and patient statements on behalf of A Better Way Massage & Acupuncture.1) Patient billing address is correct in our system(See email from Clare at the BillingService dated January 2018.)Patientwas mailed by The Billing Service three (3)Item (10) day notices for heraccount balance during her treatment schedule at A Better Way Massage &Acupuncture(See email from Clare at the Billing Service dated January 2, )Alex at A Better Way Massage & Acupuncture did misinform patient of account, however called patient and apologized for the misinformation and informed herbalance at the time of the phone call(See email from Clare at the BillingService on December 29, 2017.)Patient did receive a bill from A Better way Massage and Acupuncture(See email from Clare at the Billing Service on December 29, 2017.)A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture cannot explain why patient did not receive a bill for claims( See email from Clare at the Billing Service dated January 2,2018.)The patient had The Billing Service contact information to investigate the amountsowed to A Better Way rvlassage & Acupuncture but chose to wait to inquire on herbillThe Billing Service business cards are at our front desk and the entrance of ouroffice for patients to takeThe Billing Service phone number and email contactinformation is on our website and there is a direct line option on A Better Way Massage& Acupuncture answering service(See email from patient to The Billings Service onDecember 29, 2017.)7, The patient receives Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from Premera when claims areprocessed by PremeraThe EOB states how much is owed by the patient to theprovider Premera's website has a very informative page regarding EOB's and how toread them and understand themPatient was informed by her insurance company of the amount owed to A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture(See "Understanding YourExplanation of Benefits" printout from Premera's website.)The patient would have been informed of her amount owing to A Better WayMassage & Acupuncture by her EOB's from PremeraIf patient had any questionsregarding not receiving a bill for her amount owing at A Better Way Massage &Acupuncture, those questions should have been investigated by the patient after receiving her EOB's from Premera, which would have led the patient to call our medical billing service EOB's Informs the patient about the exact amount owed to providers.We suggest patients call their insurance company with any questions regarding the outcomeof amounts owing on their medical billsIn the case patients have complaints about howthey were billed by a provider, we also suggest patients complain to the Washington StateInsurance Commissioner This manner of complaints helps protect the patient's HealthInsurance Portability and Accountability Act (H!PAA) rights.I hope this is sufficient response to the above complaintA Better Way Massage & Acupuncture provides patients with ample information to research and keep up with theiraccounts.Shannon F*Owner/Manager/Medical ProviderA Better Way Massage & Acupuncture

I am rejecting this response because:As previously stated I did not receive any bill past September of 2017. I made a payment of $23.60on both 8/11/2017 & 9/9/2017. These were the last statements that I had any knowledge or receipt of. I ended up paying $497.20 that posted my account on 12/42017 by check. I had paid it to collections even though I had never received a bill.  Then within 2 weeks I received another collections bill for A better way massage  for $150.74. This is why I'm upset. I never received any bills to me. My insurance does eventually send me an explanation of benefits but that is in no way a bill. Plus this lady is trying to put blame oin Alex which is wrong. If she had done her job correctly and it was in the system I would have been paying my bills at the office which is the way I've usually taken care of my balances with the.
