A Colorful Life Painting & Remodeling

We had a contract with the painter for our entire house, which we paid 50% up front. They did part of the job and collected the remaining balance. However, the owner, Joe Morrison, has yet to return our calls. We have several complaints. First of all, they didn't finish the job. They didn't paint a couple of the closet doors, the bathroom door, the window in the bathroom, and a lot of the trim. The ceiling was supposed to be painted, but they only did a layer of primer. We found this out when we had to redo a part of the ceiling due to a stain that appeared and saw it didn't match the rest. We covered it in primer and realized they never finished the ceiling because the ceiling paint didnt match, but the primer did. And this was after wed left 3 messages to find out which paint he used! He never returned our call, so we spent a great deal of time calling EVERY Sherwin Williams store in the area until we found one familiar with his line of paint. We then bought the paint, only to realize he never painted the ceiling! There are areas of the walls around edges that weren't completed. Not to mention that some areas were just painted in a very sloppy fashion. We are missing some items: a closet door, a couple shelves of closets, and almost all of the window shades aand curtain rods are missing. It's bad enough that the job wasn't done correctly, but that he stole from us is just plain disheartening. We have left him over 20 voicemails and emails, and there has been no response. We truly feel we were stolen from. We replaced all the locks on our doors after this, as he cant be trusted.
