Hiring Marc was the worst mistake of my life I deeply regret doing so, as he walked off my job without completing it, after I paid him over 95% of what was owed to him The work that was completed was shoddy, with much of it needing to be done over Kitchen walls were not plumb, a bulkhead was not level, cabinets were crooked, kitchen window was not installed, kitchen floor was crooked, shower bench was crooked...I could go on and on Marc did not oversee the project like he said he would and had no idea of what type of work was being doneI did not see him once since the day we signed the contract He got his checks and I never saw him again I don't think it would have made much difference if he had been supervising, but as the GC, that his job was to schedule labor and supply materials and he didn't do itHe was going like gangbusters until I paid him all but a few thousand dollars Once he had his money, he stopped supplying materials, and after that, when there was work being done, there was only one guy there working. The project began on May 16th, and by mid-July, he began not answering calls and taking days to answer textsThat one guy that did work was rude to me, did not care about the quality of his work, and by his own admission did not know how to read the architect's plans nor the cabinet installation spec sheetHe finally walked off the job in September, and good riddance After that, Marc scheduled about two more weeks of work then stopped completely in OctoberThe project was supposed to take - weeks, but after weeks, it was still far from complete The week mark is when he stopped sending labor altogether; he WALKED OFF the job, leaving me with quite a mess Almost half of what he was contracted to do was not done - I had to hire the following: HVAC company to install duct work that had to be moved; Glass company to customize and install a shower door (the only shower in the only bathroom in my house, which Marc was supposed to complete FIRST, so I could move back home from my sister's, where I had to live during this nightmare); Electrician, since it is required by the City of Pittsburgh to have certified electricians do the work and have it inspected - Marc did not pull the electrical permit or hire a certified electrical subcontractor; Plumber, to complete the powder room addition, which was just a framed hole in the ground when he walked away; and a general handyman to complete the kitchen, powder room walls, siding, fix the crooked floor, wall and bulkhead..I could go on and on Marc made a mess of my yard, took the deck off in a way that made it impossible to re-assemble, left loads of construction debris in the back yard, made a mess of my belongings inside by not covering them during demo, and generally not taking any care at all Marc did not obtain the required permits from the City, nor did he have any inspections done, as required, throughout the project These failures could jeopardize my ability to obtain an Occupancy Permit as required by the cityHis disregard for proper procedure and the possible consequences borders on the obscene They left a live electrical line hanging in my basement - I was getting an estimate to get the electrical done right and the wire was touched- it sparked off a water line, causing the water line to break THAT error borders on criminal.Someone could have been seriously hurt by that live wire By walking off the job, Marc did not deliver the services that he was paid to deliverDon't make the mistake I made

Hiring Marc was the worst mistake of my life. I deeply regret doing so, as he walked off my job without completing it, after I paid him over 95% of what was owed to him. The work that was completed was shoddy, with much of it needing to be done over. Kitchen walls were not plumb, a bulkhead was not level, cabinets were crooked, kitchen window was not installed, kitchen floor was crooked, shower bench was crooked...I could go on and on. Marc did not oversee the project like he said he would and had no idea of what type of work was being done. I did not see him once since the day we signed the contract. He got his checks and I never saw him again. I don't think it would have made much difference if he had been supervising, but as the GC, that his job was to schedule labor and supply materials and he didn't do it. He was going like gangbusters until I paid him all but a few thousand dollars. Once he had his money, he stopped supplying materials, and after that, when there was work being done, there was only one guy there working. The project began on May 16th, and by mid-July, he began not answering calls and taking days to answer texts. That one guy that did work was rude to me, did not care about the quality of his work, and by his own admission did not know how to read the architect's plans nor the cabinet installation spec sheet. He finally walked off the job in September, and good riddance. After that, Marc scheduled about two more weeks of work then stopped completely in October. The project was supposed to take 6 - 8 weeks, but after 26 weeks, it was still far from complete. The 26 week mark is when he stopped sending labor altogether; he WALKED OFF the job, leaving me with quite a mess. Almost half of what he was contracted to do was not done - I had to hire the following: HVAC company to install duct work that had to be moved; Glass company to customize and install a shower door (the only shower in the only bathroom in my house, which Marc was supposed to complete FIRST, so I could move back home from my sister's, where I had to live during this nightmare); Electrician, since it is required by the City of Pittsburgh to have certified electricians do the work and have it inspected - Marc did not pull the electrical permit or hire a certified electrical subcontractor; Plumber, to complete the powder room addition, which was just a framed hole in the ground when he walked away; and a general handyman to complete the kitchen, powder room walls, siding, fix the crooked floor, wall and bulkhead..I could go on and on. Marc made a mess of my yard, took the deck off in a way that made it impossible to re-assemble, left loads of construction debris in the back yard, made a mess of my belongings inside by not covering them during demo, and generally not taking any care at all. Marc did not obtain the required permits from the City, nor did he have any inspections done, as required, throughout the project. These failures could jeopardize my ability to obtain an Occupancy Permit as required by the city. His disregard for proper procedure and the possible consequences borders on the obscene. They left a live electrical line hanging in my basement - I was getting an estimate to get the electrical done right and the wire was touched- it sparked off a water line, causing the water line to break. THAT error borders on criminal.Someone could have been seriously hurt by that live wire. By walking off the job, Marc did not deliver the services that he was paid to deliver. Don't make the mistake I made.

Review: Marc M[redacted], owner of A Complete Home, llc, was hired to fully remodel my main home bathroom. I was given a 6-10 day completion time & a start time of between 8-8:30 daily. It took 14. It started January 18, 2016 & is still incomplete. I have an unfinished window--still needs trimmed out & painted to look new, incorrectly hung door that scrapes & doesn't shut correctly, scrapes in paint, chips in wall that were never sanded & smoothed, crooked tile in shower surround, cracking grout all around tub & around floor tile, unlevel toilet paper holder, nicks & scrapes everywhere, tile in shower that isn't even covered in grout & more. I have yet to get a return email, text or phone call to get my bathroom completed even after paying promptly for everything, making it convenient for workers to show up daily by 8 am & some days they didn't show at all or were only here for a few hours.Desired Settlement: Ultimately we want the job that we paid for completed in full in a timely fashion & to our expectations without any lasting issues. If this cannot be upheld, I feel we deserve a full refund.

Be cautious when using this company.
Dealing with contractors can be extremely frustrating at times. Some won't return your calls. Some return your calls but then don't show up. Some return calls and seem very good on paper. That's what happened with this company. They seemed good on paper but, in the end, using them was a decision I deeply regret. They had poor time management and there was no one checking on the laborers' work.
I don't know if there are different crews sent out so I can only speak for 4 guys that were at our house. They didn't look at the big picture nor did they care about the final outcome. We had to act like the project manager telling them what needed to be done and what was done wrong. They didn't want to hear it from us. Information wasn’t passed between the guys working and no one seemed to be on the same page with the project.
The only time we saw Marc, the owner, was on day 1 when he came to get first check. He promised numerous times that he would be there “to make sure things were to his standards.” He didn't even show up to see the final project.
This bathroom project was supposed to take 7-10 business days. It took 21 business days. I understand that delays happen and projects take longer but full days of actual work were hard to come by and almost everything they touched had to be done over – some things were fixed more than once. Items were damaged during demo that weren't supposed to be touched so we had to find someone else to fix those issues. There were parts of the project that we had to do over/finish after they left.
Would I use them again? No. Would I recommend them? No. Do I regret using them? Definitely! This project turned out to be a regret in the thousands of dollars. I just hope the shoddy work doesn't come back to hurt us in the end.
