A Cut Above Builders, L.L.C.

I met with this contractor, [redacted], to discuss a possible tiling job and gave him a deposit to purchase tile once I picked out the color and type I was happy with.He cashed the check on 7/2/2013 and went on vacation. A week later I contacted him to cancel and asked for my $300.00 deposit back.There is no cancellation or refund policy stated on the copy of the invoice. He agreed verbally to cancel and refund my $300.00.The next day he called and told me I would be getting back $250.00. He said the $50.00 loss would cover "his time". I would not agree to the $250.00 refund since the job had not started and no materials were purchased. A few phone calls later his offer went down to $200.00.I said no I would only agree to the $250.00 as a settlement amount and he said too bad see you in court. I reached out a few times to inquire about the status of the check and he told me I was harrassing him. I will further pursue this in small claims court.
