On September 17th, 2012 I signed a contract with Affordable Roofing, LLC (3008 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40217) to have my roof replaced due to hail damage on both my house and my garage. The work, while completed on Nov. 4th, 2012 was poorly done. It took the company over a month to complete work that could and should have been completed in two days.
My complaints with the company are very specific.
First, after the first day workers came to my home my husband noticed that several jobs were not done adequately. The ridge cap had a huge hump at the center of the house. There were several cracked and torn shingles. There were exposed nail heads everywhere. Nails were found all over the ground in both the yard and sidewalk. The chimney flashing was damaged and spray painted rather than replaced. The garage had broken boards that were replaced with broken boards. And there were unrepaired boards left where the workers feet went through the boards.
These complaints were brought to the attention of Affordable Roofing soon after the work was completed. However, it took an additional month to fix all these errors that were made.
On several occasions workers would show up at our home, but not even know what they were there to repair. This was very frustrating as we not only told our contact at AR but we also showed photos of the specific problems. Apologies were made repeatedly but we really just wanted the work to be done and to be done correctly. After complaints were made it would take up to two weeks before we even saw a worker come out to fix. We were fortunate enough not to have severe weather and additional damage to the interior of our home.
Although the job was completed and we have no outstanding issues with the company I still felt that it was important that I voice my opinion and my personal experience with this company. I will never contact this company for repairs on my home and I will not recommend them to anyone in need of roofing repairs. I was deeply disappointed with the communication within the company. It's very frustrating to put your faith and trust in someone you just met and to be given the feeling that you are in good hands only to be disappointed with situations like this.
