January 12,2017To Whom it may concern:In regards to the complaint ID # ***, The woman by the name of *** *** is lyingShe came into our facility to ship a sweeper to Fingerhut and the software that we use provided to us via the shipping company UPS was malfunctioning and the
employee that had helped her only charged her the prelabeled fee due to the problemWe were not made aware of the actual shipping charges until later that evening when the reports were printedAt that time, we called the customer and notified her of the malfunction and told her that she either needed to come back in and finish paying her shipping fees or we would have to Intercept her package and have it returned to our facility for her to pick up, Where we were unaware of the flaw in the system we had sent the package with the driver as soon as it came inWhen we found out that she had not actually paid for the charges associated with shipping her package We contacted UPS immediately and notified them of the situationThey informed us that we hadn't been charged for that package yet because it had not been scanned into the system yet, They told us that the driver was in route back to the hub with the package and that they would not scan the package in to save the customer money, That the package would be returned to us the following dayAt that time we contacted the customer and informed her of the situation we gave her the choice to either pick up the package the following day or to pay the remaining balance of her shipping fees and allow the package to be shipped to its destinationShe at that time notified us that she was going to be unable to pay the fees due to not having any money, The information she gave us was because she didn't Want to pay for her shipping she wanted something for freeWe even tried working with her by giving her the option to make payments on the charges until it was paid offThe fees only came to $and she had already paid the amount of $leaving the balance of $that could have been broken down into smaller paymentsShe told us no that she just wanted her package back she asked if she could come in to speak with me and had my employee tell her that would be fine but please leave the hostility at home we would figure something out when she came in the following dayWe told her that UPS told us that it would be here the following day, we told her that we would notify her when it arrivedThe following day we never received her package back from the UPS hub in Chillcothe so we called inquiring about the whereabouts of her package and when it would be delivered back to our location, They told us that there was a clerical error and the package accidentally got scanned into the System and initiated the shipping fee and the package was sent out, We told them the package was Supposed to come back to us so that the customer could pick it back up because she refused to pay shipping fees and they apologized and told us that they would start an Intercept and return the package to us the following dayThey told us that there is a charge for intercepting the package and return fees and transportation fees that we will need to get from the customer, When we found out what happened and what UPS told us we notified the customer and informed her of the feesShe became frate over the phone and became very rude towards my employee over the phone and hung upWe called UPS to see what we could do about the charges for the customer since their software was malfunctioning and the package was sent due to a clerical error on their end if we could get the package back without having to charge the customer any money, They told us that due to their negligence they would not charge the Customer any fees and that they would just send the package back to us the following dayThe next day came with no arrival of the woman's package and we had to call Ups back, they told us that no one initiated the intercept properly and the package was delivered to its destination that we would have to notify Fingerhut to get the package back for her or just to leave it where it was and they would just not charge us any fees associated with the shippingBefore We could call her back to let her know what was going on she called cussing at my employee threatening to beat her up and to sue the business for $6.42, She told us that she wasn't scared to go to Jail that she was going to tear up the store and then she hung up, I proceeded to call the Woman back and before could even notify her that the package had been delivered that there would be no fees for her shipping and that Ups would be contacting her she started threating me as well told her that don't appreciate her calling my store threatening my employees or myself that she was not welcome to come to my store again that if she stepped foot up here again I would call the police, She told me she wasn't scared to go to jail that she was going to beat me and all my employees up and proceeded to use language that I can't put in this letter, have just recently had surgery and have been very ill and came at hour and a % from home three days in a row to handle the situation for herI hung up the phone and proceeded to call the police and filed a report on herShe called my store the following day using the excuse that she didn't come to the store to fight us because she was stuck on her hill and that there were no police available to come with her which was because had already called the police and made a report and they told me that if she came up there to ask her to leave the premises and if she refused to callback and they wouldShe also continued to threaten both of my employees on her final call and threaten to sueI have multiple witnesses as there were other customers in the building while all this was going on and also have my husband his brother and both of my employees and their families that were here at the time who can vouch for this IncidentWell thank you for your time and patience with this situation, if you need anything further from me or my
