Kari Olson Co. advertises her Instagram Workshop to pre-register for just $1. It goes on to say that you will pay the remaining $49 at the workshop.
What Kari actually does is charge you the full $50 fee, whether you attend the workshop or not. The only way you can recover this additional $49 charge is by attending the workshop, and requesting a refund within 24 hours.
She doesn’t even know if you are at the workshop. You will get an automated email thanking you for attending, with no information about the charges already on your credit card, thus limiting your opportunity to request a refund in the 24 hour period.
She wrongfully advertises the initial cost is only $1. If you pay that, you will be billed additional $49 no matter the circumstances.

Our terms listed on our website clearly state, "to receive a refund you must have attended the entirety of the workshop. If you attended the entirety of the workshop and didn't receive value, email us within 24 hours in order to receive a refund." Attendance is taken at each event. The complainant did not attend the workshop and therefore does not qualify to receive a refund for her ticket per the terms and conditions. Furthermore, the complainant did not notify the business that she would not be in attendance of the event, nor did she request a refund until 10 days after the event. She has been offered to receive the $50 ticket price off of a corresponding program or to receive video lessons at no cost, however, these options have been refused.
