Review: I am filing a complaint against [redacted] 4 Joyce plaza [redacted].He extracted a tooth and afterwards I was charged 143.00 I expressed concern that I didn't think I had to pay. But he insisted. I then called my insurance provider, and was told he is a participating provider and I shouldn't have paid anything. I called the office back and was told someone would get back to me. A day goes by no one calls back. The next day (day three) I call and leave a message stating that I should be reimbursed for payment, because he is a participating provider and there is no copayment for a tooth extraction. About ten to fifteen minutes later [redacted] himself calls yelling at me over the phone that I keep calling about money that he did me a favor by seeing me, he then told me he will not receive payment for that day from my insurance company and that the payment for the extraction would take a month or two for him to be reimbursed. He also told me that the amount of money I paid wasn't going to break me or make him rich. I told him my finances are none of his business I then told him this was a problem between himself and the insurance company that if he didn't like the way things work he doesn't have to be a participating provider. I was appalled and insulted by the way he treated me after the extraction. I can't believe it's ok to get money from patients in advance before they receive payment from the insurance company, when the dentist is a participating provider. He is holding my money hostage for ransom while waiting for reimbursement from the insurance provider. This should be illegal and I will never use his services again.Desired Settlement: I would simply like the money that I should not have paid to be refunded to me and not in 2 months.
