Keypoint CU alleged that they had to take out supplementary car insurance. After confirming the issue was resolved, they have raised my payments.
It Sept. 2012 I bought a new car using a loan from Keypoint. In Oct./Nov. I received a notice saying that they had to take out supplementary insurance which I had to pay for unless I called them. I called them and was told that they would work directly with my insurance provider to resolve this issue. That it could take a few weeks so I was to ignore any follow-up notices. In Nov./Dec. I received a newly formatted letter saying I had to respond and I owed them $400. I called Keypoint again. They apologized and I was told that they would correct it. I was to expect a confirmation letter in a few weeks. I began traveling for the holidays. Upon returning home I received a bill where I was being charged an additional $100. I called Keypoint and was told that Ernie (XXX-XXX-XXXX) would call me back. After a week of phone tag and [redacted] not answering when I called him I called the main line again. I was then transferred to [redacted] who says they have no record in me attempting to contact them until 1/3, that they would not work with the insurance provider directly, and that I had to send in the insurance information to avoid paying anymore for their supplemental plan. This is a complete 180 from everything I was told 3 months ago.
