We hired [redacted] to form and pour a slab of concrete at our home. He put the plumbing in and poured the slab. The plumbing is wrong.
[redacted] formed the footing and poured it. He dumped the rest of the left over concrete onto the pile of fill inside the footing so that it could not be packed down later. He then filled the area with rock. He told my husband that he would pack the rock down with a machine so the rock would not settle later. He did not show up with a machine to pack the rock, they walked on it instead. My husband asked for several days for us to put the plumbing in before they poured concrete. [redacted] convinced my husband to let him put the plumbing in because he could do it better than us. [redacted] put the plumbing in and poured concrete. I asked [redacted] for a itemized bill for my records and he said he had the information at home but he would get it to me the next day. I trusted him and paid the bill. The next day when we could walk on the concrete I realized that the plumbing was wrong. One sink is correct. The toilets (x2) are in different locations from where the wall will be and the laundry drain is inside the area of the toilet bowl. I went to town to pick up supplies for my home and ran into [redacted] at the store. I told him about the plumbing and that I was still waiting for the billing. He said he would have his wife bring the billing by the next day and made no comment about the plumbing. Two days later I called him again and was told the billing would be mailed to my home and no comment about the plumbing. I ran into his wife the next week and talked to her and again was told that she would mail the itemized bill to my home. We have received nothing from them. [redacted] did the work on my home in May and it is now July 15, 2013. I paid him more than he estimated the job to be and I would like to see why. He estimated the bill to be $4,480.00 and it cost us $5,580.00 I paid him $2,200.00 by check on May 1, 2013. I paid him $ 3,380.00 by check on May 15, 2013. We are now busting up the concrete he poured and ripping out the plumbing he did so it can be corrected.
