Review: I have a lifetime membership with the History Channel Club. Membership includes magazines for life. My number is #[redacted]. I have not gotten a magazine for about a year. I paid a lot of money for this. They offered the deal to me. I met my obligation. Now I would like my magazines I paid for, or a refund. They changed the name of the magazine to Warrior. But that should not stop my agreement.Desired Settlement: I would like either the magazines or a refund.

Review: On 3-**-13 I ordered three DVDs. The Men Who Built America, Founding Fathers and History of the World in Two Hours. I recieved my order on 3-**-13 and instead of Men Who Built America, I recieved Duck Dynasty along with Founding Fathers and History of the World. I immediately sent all three DVDs back as in instructed on the invoice and called their customer help, ###-###-#### and explained the mistake. I aked for reimbursement for the postage I paid to send the DVDs back and they cedited my credit card $4 on 3-**-13. They said they would send out the correct order the next day. I then recieved only The Men Who Built America. I called back and again explained the mistake and asked to be reimbused for the other two DVDs. I did not recieve reimbursement ($43.05) for the other two DVDs. I called and explained this to customer help on 4-*-13, 4-**-13 and again on 6-**-13 when I spoke to [redacted]. I still have not recieved my reimbursement for $43.05.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of $43.05.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by A & E Television Network regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They said that they credited my credit card but I have not gotten a statement to verify that They have done that. I will let you know as soon as I know.

Thank you,

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Business

Response:

Attached is a screenshot showing the credits as processed on 3/** for $4 and 7/** for $37.10.

There exists the possibility that the reason the credit may not have been confirmed as received by the customer is because there were two separate credits and that the name on the credit may not have listed the store visibly on the statement.

It may have showed “Digital River” only on the main page, but in the detail page of the charge the store name will have appeared.

Please advise the customer to doublecheck his statement for credits on these dates and if he does not see them there, then to please reach out to the CC company for further assistance.

If there are any other issues surrounding this complaint, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you!

Review: I returned an item to the company on 7[redacted]/2014. My receipt from the [redacted] says that they rec'd the item on 7/**. At the time that I bought the item, they had a 100% Unconditional Guarantee on all returns. I had all of my documents in proper order. I followed all of their rules for returning an item, & according to the Consumer Protection Act of 2007, they are obliged to refund my $39.95 (the amt. of the purchase minus shipping). After I made my purchase, they changed their return policy, but that is irrelevant because, according to the Va. Dept. of Consumer Services, and the Fair Credit Billing Act, they are obliged to abide by the terms of our contract, i.e. the terms of the sale (& return) when I made the purchase.I have e-mailed them 4 times; they are unresponsive. I have called them 9 times. [redacted], the [redacted], has been giving me the run-around: 1st she said that she would send a check to me; then she said she'll send my info to the Audit Dept. and they will contact me; when they didn't, she said she'd contact them again. Then she said that the Audit Dept. can't send a refund; I said "but you have my item!" She said "did you send it to us?" I told her that I had a receipt from the [redacted] proving that they have it. I reminded her that their Return Policy was 100% Unconditional Guarantee, which they are obliged to abide by. She said she didn't have the authority to send me a check; I asked who did. She said Higher Management; I asked to speak to them; she said someone would call me in 24-48 hours. That was on Dec. **; no one called me.I have contacted the Attorney General's office in Calif.; around mid-Jan., they wrote to A & E and have yet to receive a response. Today, 2/**, I filed a complaint with the FTC and with the National Fraud Information Center NFIC).

Review: They failed to honor the 50% off that I was offered which you can see in the screen shot I took of the Shopping Cart page. This is simply a bait-and-switch tactic the A&E Network Store is using. How do I send you folks my screen shot? It's a PDF that is about 200KB in size.Desired Settlement: I use a special Internet account that is a debit card to prevent any fraudulent activity. I keep a very small sum of money in the account and I have to make a special trip to the bank to deposit money to cover any purchases I make on the Internet. This is a simple matter since I know when I am going to purchase something on the Internet, and I can plan ahead to make a deposit. This tactic has already prevented criminals from fraudulently using my card on two separate occasions. On one occasion they were trying to use this account in Singapore for a "massage parlor" and to make some other purchases. Since there were no funds in the account they were stopped cold. Both hacks were a result of poor security by sites such as A&E Network.

I did not believe that waiting less than a day to add the funds necessary to cover this purchase would affect the transaction. When I went to make the purchase I was denied the 50% off and they were attempting to charge me $196.92 which is outrageous. The prices they showed me should have been honored, and I requested the support staff at the A&E Network Store honor the prices I was quoted. I sent them a screen shot of my shopping cart showing the prices and requested they send me a coupon so I could make my purchase at the agreed price. They refused. I assumed the 50% off offer was good for the entire month of September like the buy two get one free offer is since there was no time limit given for the 50% off offer. I suspect this was a bait-and-switch offer and anyone complaining would receive the same response I did: "our sale prices and promotional offers are subject to change or end at any time"

I would like them to send me a 50% off promo code and honor the agreement they made with me. I should get "The Universe: The Mega Collection" Blu-Ray SKU ID# 3849-296528, and "The World At War" DVD SKU ID# 3849-70674 for 50% off and "History Classics: The Revolution" DVD SKU ID# 3849-295820 for free in the buy two get one free offer. The subtotal would come to $94.99, and with shipping the subtotal was $101.94. I realize there may be tax raising the total a little more, but it is far less than $197. I cannot afford to pay the actual prices they are asking. They can email me the coupon.

Review: 3 DVDs did not work. They were ordered for my classroom in October. I tried to send them back to be fixed and A & E refused citing a 30 days return.

I ordered many DVDs for my classroom from A & E in October 2013. Three dvds did not work -- each disk said the disk needs to be formatted. I did not open the dvds until February 2014. The reason I did not open them was due to my maternity leave. When I asked if I could be sent more disks to replace them or if I could send the dvds back to be fixed, A & E refused to send me more product or fix the defective dvds.

I tried to explain to the employees I spoke with on the phone that the order I had was for educational purposes and I really wanted to show the dvds to my class. Each time the representative I spoke with cited a thirty day return policy. I ask that a manager call me back. I waited for days with no response. I called many other times in vain attempts.

I am not trying to get money back. I simply want the dvds replaced or fixed. I have asked for a higher manager to call me so I can explain the situation. But there is no response or sympathy for my circumstances.Desired Settlement: I want the defective dvds replaced with same products that work so I may show them to my students in my classroom.
