Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) # [redacted]Construction Supervisor License # [redacted]There is work that has to be redo/fixed and we are still waiting for him to come back.He finished his contract work beginning of April of 2013 and since then we are trying to reach an agreement to redo/fix the siding-white cedar shingles installation. We want him to remove the white cedar shingles from 50% of the house and redo the work. He didn't follow the specifications we gave him about the shingles quality using grade "B" instead of extra grade and the workmanship is defective.We have been going back and forth trying to reach a good solution for both parts. After waiting so long we decided at least go with the solution he offered. Besides that, other things started to show up like wavy porch ceiling, big space under the entry door, and other minor things that have to be addressed.We are trying to retain some money of the full payment amount enough to buy the materials to fix the problem ourselves. We were not even contemplating labor costs.We finally paid in full after he threatened us to take us to Court if we didn't pay him for the full contract amount. After calling him by phone several times, leaving messages, and sending e-mails he finally asked us to send him in writing a letter by mail. We did it. He received it August 30,2013.Since then we were trying to communicate with him, leaving messages with no luck.By contract, contractor shall remedy defects due to faulty materials,equipment or workmanship which result in substantial non-conformity and which appear within a period of one year from the date of the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy which would be July 9th, 2014.
