The customers move was setup for a morning appointment one of our trucks broke down while in route to his locationall of our other trucks were currently on jobswe called and notified him that as soon as a truck was Complete with their first job and came available we would send it right out he
was not very happy understandably so but there was nothing we could do all of our other trucks were currently on jobs*** called in the afternoon said he had to be moved and could not wait until late told him at that point we had no other trucks available they were still on their current job he insisted it had to be done that day so we called u-haul the biggest truck they had was a footer so before we rented the truck we contacted *** back notified him that the best we would be able to do is rent a foot truck since he insisted on being out that evening so we went to u-haul rented the truck which was the only one they had available within Columbus.we talk to *** to confirm he still wanted us to do the job that evening he stated yes it had to be doneSo we rented the truck got to his location then he only wanted to move couple of beds and few little items and wanted to finish the job the next day we told him we could do that but there would be another trip charge the following daywe rented a truck to try and accommodate his demandsAt that point even though we went and rented a truck per his request because it had to be out that night so he claimedWe tryed to make him a satisfied customer it was still not good enough the guys got loaded they got to the unload address it is company policy which states on the bottom of our contract that he sign that we will collect every bill before the point of unload that reinsurers our payment as a business he said he did not want to pay he wanted to wait until the following day told him we were not allowed to do that company policy states before we can unload on any job we have to collect said payment in full he stated he would not pay we told him if he did not pay we would have to take the items in the truck put them in the storage in order to return the U Haul back to the company he was aware of all of these things at the point of the estimate and yet tried to get out of paying the bill so my men left in order to avoid confrontation with *** because he was upset and very verbally demanding and confrontational so the guys left then he called me said he wanted the truck back immediately I told him he would have to pay the bill before they could unload he said that was fine my men went back to the address to collect the payment and get the truck unloaded when they arrived there was a police officer present that *** had called in order to try and get out of paying the bill and still make my men unloadmy men showed the policeman our contract which states the bills to be paid in full by credit card or cash before my men would unload the truck the officer overlooked the contract seen his signatures ask him if he agree to those terms before the job began *** stated yes at that point the officer told *** he had to pay the bill in order for us to unload per the contract that he agreed to and signed onwe went above and beyond to try and accommodate *** the truck breaking down was kind of out of our control and even then we chose to rent a UHaul just to accommodate his job onlyhe knew it was a foot truck before the truck was ever rentedwe called him stated that was all they had I could have a truck out the next day he said no he wanted it done that night the only reason we went to the extent of renting a truck that evening was to accommodate him with his move he was given a percent discount for the delay he was furious that my men would not unload and allow him to pay the following day which he knew from the beginning it was to be paid in full before they unloaded at all if we would have known when my men arrived with the truck that he only wanted us to get a couple of beds and a few other items when the job was set to move the entire home we would have never rented the truck the whole reason we rented the truck is because he demanded he had to have everything out that night my men was willing to work late just to accommodate with his situation if he was only going to get a couple of items we would have just waited till the following day in order to complete the move all at once *** was mad because of the delay in his move that morning did not want to pay the bill that evening when he was fully aware of the way payment was to be done even the officer could tell that *** was distraught and just did not want to pay the bill until the officer told him he had to or it would go to small claims court per the contract that he read over and signedWe tried to go out of our way to help *** that evening because he claimed everything had to be out that night but when the men arrived with the U Haul that we rented specifically to accommodate his job only then the story changed and everything didn't have to be out he just wanted the beds moved along with couple other items.*** was mad for no other reason than I could not have a truck there first thing due to our truck breaking down in route to his address he was also mad because we would not unload without collecting the payment when we went out of our way and even rented another truck and gave him a 10% discount just to complete his move per his request and even when his story changed when they arrived and he only wanted few items moved which we would have never rented the truck if it could have been on the following day but he claimed it had to be done that night when the officer told him that we were in the right per his signature on the contract that policeman stated it had to be collected in full before they unloaded he was furious but paid the billmy men unloaded and they left this complaint is over nothing more than a truck breaking down enroute to his current address could not get another truck until later that evening and yet we even rented the biggest truck that we could find through u-haul and that was the biggest truck that was available at that time.Even through the entire situation we tried to make it as easy as possible and went out of our way to assist *** but he refused to pay the payment that he agreed upon at the beginning of the move we went out of our way to help we apologized numerous times we did the best we could to accommodate *** nothing seemed to satisfy him there was nothing we could do except leave so that confrontation did not start because he was very verbally confrontational because we would not unload and he had to pay the bill that night even the Officer stated we were in the right..We are Very sorry for the way the situation had occurred with the truck breaking down yet was out of our control.My men were courteous respectful and did everything that he asked through the move the bill was two hundred and forty three dollars with his discount for a hour minimum which with the confrontation at Hand took longer than that and yet we did not charge him for that as well as the truck rental wages fuel Exedra We truly apologize but we did everything we possibly could to satisfy *** and yet at the end of the day nothing we were
