Four years ago my son, who was in his twenties, received his fourth DUI. He had been struggling with alcohol binges for years and it destroyed his relationships and caused great loneliness and depression. Nothing would help him. I researched "residential rehabs" online and talked to several representatives. I decided on A Forever Recovery. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. The staff was friendly and available to me. I was able to talk to one person who knew his case thoroughly. Although he was limited in what he could tell me since my son was an adult, he did talk to me throughout my son's initial weeks. My son stayed at AFR until he passed every stage they set for him: it took a couple of months. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the food was healthy. As residents progressed, they were allowed to go to movies or other events. He had telephonic contact available for a year after he left and could return if needed. He had a rocky start the first couple of months after leaving and these telephone calls helped immensely. He finished college, got a good job and now I have a beautiful baby grandson. He has stayed alcohol free and is actually happy. Thank you AFR for helping my son achieve a good life.
I recently had my son go to this rehab He was waiting for a bed in [redacted] statebecause his insurance didn't cover , out of state treatment By the way, is horrible in **stateHe was directed by the court and his drug counselor to go into treatment from herion addiction He lived with me for one weekHe was using daily I thought he would die Just wondering when ? I spoke with the intake person All people there are wonderful to speak with I was so distraught , at this time, I should of asked more questions I believe he said after treatment was for a yr Well, after treatment , is a phone call for a yr I was confused to think it was like a total living facility for a yr , if so needed It doesn;tWe had to pay cash Now, no , cash for his sober living or half way house I am disappointed that the intake person did not explain this to me So, far my son seems to be doing well He is soon to graduate for there but I am scared He needs assisted living So, I hope and pray , they can steer him in the right direction We spent our retirement money
