A G Concrete Services

I contacted A G Concrete Services *** "***" *** on 26Jun2019 through his Facebook business page for an estimate on pouring a small 6' x 10' pad and a 6' block pillar to match our already existing block wall ... I did this knowing that he might not have a California business license but he had such good reviews from the Nuevo neighborhood that I was just hoping he would not do me wrong. I told him we were having a gate installed and needed the pillar to attach it to as the old wrought iron gate was not secure attached to the house. I also asked if there was a limit to the amount of concrete in a truck if necessary we could go farther with the concrete. I asked about how he was doing the pillar because he said something about the house foundation and chipping some away, so he explained about digging down and framing for the pillar so I assumed he would also dig down for the concrete forms as I had seen done before on other concrete we had poured. We also talked about reinforcement he said they used a fiber for reinforcing the concrete that it was better than metal. He called the concrete person and he gave me a quote for $1350.00 in total. Which I thought was a little high (but we had not had any concrete done for 20+ years) and I took it as inflation. So he set a time for the next Monday 01Jul2019 at 6:30 am to start and be done the same day. Well it was poured on top of the dirt 6" above. He said he talked to my husband and it was done the way he said (my husband disagrees) now we have a misunderstanding on both our parts and I AG will not admit any fault, I offered to pay half to take out the concrete but he wouldn't budge only $100.00 of $650.00 MORE to pay him to only partially fix by removing the concrete only. I tried one last time to get him to remove and replace it all without resulting to this complaint but we could not come to an agreement... I have a lot more to state here but character limits made me shorten it I have the full statement written down.
