This customer moved in on 11-4-13. She payed a $90 security deposit and agreed to pay $90 for the first month before the 10th. She failed to do this until after Dec rent was due. I waived late fees and did all I could to help as I knew that she was not in a good situation (homeless and...

unemployed). There were repeated reports of disruptive behavior on [redacted]'s part including drug and alcohol use on the premises and sleeping in her unit (which is grounds for immediate eviction). All were met with personal private warnings.  As of 1/5/14 she still had not brought the account current and I was forced to lock her out and provide her a lien notice. At this time we also elected to provide her with a written 30 day notice of revoking her right to sell at our flea market and terminating her lease at the end of this 90 term. She threw a fit in the middle of the flea market and wrote a check to pay Decembers rent. On the 5th of Feb she notified me that she would need more time to remove her belongings. I told her that her deposit would be deducted 6 each day that she didn't have the unit cleaned out. At first it looked like she was taking steps to remove her belongings but on 3-14-14 she still had not cleaned out her belongings and the owner was done waiting. This was the day that she came by and demanded access to her unit. I gave her a couple options but she would not compromise. I was forced to call the sheriff out to mediate the situation when she got hostel. With him present we came to a compromise where she would pay the $45 that she was behind, and we would not charge her the $200 lien fee, as long as it was cleaned out or anything left on the premises past midnight was deemed abandoned. At 1:30 am 3-15-14 I finally called the sheriff back to escort her of the property and at that point she still had not removed a single item from the premises. She took one car load with her and left garbage everywhere. The remaining items were sold at auction the following week for $45 dollars to pay for the clean up and time to evict [redacted].

To summarize she was the worst of tenants, and yet we waived fee after fee. She never held to her contract and then makes us out to be the bad guy when we do not allow it to continue. attached documents support my side. The worst part is that I personally considered her a friend and helped her out when ever I could including loaning her money and helping her move and yet she used that and almost cost me my job.

A Gold Mine Storage General Manager
[redacted]

Review: This business booted me out of my storage space and made it impossible for me to even remove my stored property. The manager ordered me to vacate my storage space in one day (friday) when I had no access to a truck to move it. Even the owner said I could have the the entire weekend (Sat, Sun.) to vacate.Plus the proper lien process was not observed. Manager said the lien was going in on the next Monday - which would have given me an addition two weeks to make good on rent and safely remove my property. Instead the manager told me he owned everything in my space. I was not that delinquent. The owner was fair on that point and allowed me to pay 45.00 to come even with the month deposit that was already in. They even asked me to move out before I was delinquent. At most I was a half month late. I paid late, but I always paid and it was not accurate that they said I was somekind of deadbeat. To add insult to injury, they called the sheriff (twice) - who kicked me out for "trespassing": causing me distress, plus losing much valuable merchandise, personal belongings (including several pairs of shoes), artwork and supplies and equipment. Considering this business STOLE my livelihood and merchandise it set me back many months pay.I am asking for the maximum amount available due to automatic insurance. This business is also not at all transparent: I never got a complete copy of my contract, neither was I ever given a code to use at the gate, the advertised "lights" and "security" and door to unit were never repaired on request or handled in a professional manner. I believe Goldmine Storage mishandled me and made me lose property and income.Desired Settlement: I am asking for the maximum amount available due to automatic insurance: which I believe may be 2000-3000 dollars.
