A Great American Balloon Company

Last fall, my now husband planned to propose to me on September 22nd. He purchased two tickets from this company to take me up in their hot air balloons to propose. He of course was told if the weather was not perfect that there is a chance we may not be able to go. He had a plan B. He called in by 2:00 like he was told and due to higher winds, we were cancelled so he went with his plan B. We were told to reschedule which we did. Twice. The second time the weather was perfect. No wind at all. And again, they cancelled us and told us to reschedule. The third time the same thing happened. By then, it was winter time and it was way too cold to even think about going up in a hot air balloon. We were told by the company that there is no expiration date on the tickets that we purchased so we should call back in spring when it's nice out again. Which we did. We called back in April to get a date set and at that time we were told that the company was no longer in business anymore and the person on the phone was from the collection agency that had now taken over to try and recover whatever they could. We were told to sit tight and they would be taking all of their assets and selling them off and we might get something back once that has been done. They have been stringing us along all summer hoping that we would forget about it. Then this last week we were finally told that the company scammed over $350,000 off of people from scheduling Flight times and never actually operating. We were also told that we would probably not see any money back at this point due to them not having near enough assets to cover the damage this company has done. We don't even know if it is a real collection company that we talk with when calling or someone that has scammed us that's trying to make us go away. Now we just want our money back. We paid $342.90 to a company that did ABSOLUTELY nothing for us and gave us no product or service. They took our money and disappeared. Please help!
